CC has the Sandisk 128mb smartmedia (search for SDSM1288001) for $70 with a $20 rebate
COMPUSA /bestbuy has (according to the forums - the site says after rebate) the same for $30
Price Match at Circuit City 70-40(PM)-20(rebate)=10

I PM'd with Staples that has it for 37 (69 - 32 instant rebate) , and it cost me 34-20

Cheers

Great find! I just came back from CC and got the manager to PM compusa. Last SM card at the CC in pasadena. Manager wasn't too happy but finally gave in after I showed screenshot of online price showing brealdown of instant savings and no mail-in rebate. $30 out the door - $20 mail-in rebate which the cashier didn't want to give me so I'll need to find it online. Anyone have it?

Edit: Found the rebate online and printed it out. I just used model number for the serial field, not totally sure of it myself. Thanks Unclebud and jm0ris0n!

hehe.. this is also true for the sandisk 128mb compactflash, just printed out the price from bestbuy.com showing 69.99 regular, and 29.99 sale, PMmed it at Circuit City, mail in the $20 rebate... voila!

whoa. This is a sweet deal. I just got back from Compusa and BestBuy (wish I had checked the forums before I went). Both places have the Sandisk 128 SM or CF for $30 (out the door). In fact, Best Buy's pricetag just says $29.99 AS ADVERTISED. No mention of instant rebates or anything. It might be easy to PM BB with CC.

Did anyone have luck PM'ing CC to BB? I really doubt many did since I highly doubt many of the CC's would PM to BB on an item that they KNOW will be out of stock at BB within 10 minutes of the store opening. I got a CompactFlash one at BB so I am happy, and my dad will be happy to have the extra memory for his digicam this Christmas!

PMed CrapUSSR to CC and the total was $25.30. Could have done better PMing with Staple's $27.52.

I went to Circuit City and asked them to PM Best Buy. They had the BB ad right there to look it up so it was no problem. Rang it up at $29.95 and the $20 rebate came out with the reciept. The salesman said I was gonna make him cry since he had just bought one for $50 at cost.

Thanks syyid!

I checked the rebates and compusa online. It seems like the $30 pricematch and $20 rebate would be good till midnite of 11/30. Does anyone agree? So if you'd want to get in on this deal, I would think Saturday 11/30 today would be the last day.

Checked my rebate forma nd it says "purchased between 11/24/02 and 11/30/02. I believe this may still be hot except you may need to PM someone besides Best Buy.

Thanks for the deal. I picked up the Olympus c-700 last week for 300 (manager wouldn't honor online coupon at b&m store) so getting this card for 10 after 20 mir is great! Now all I need is a great deal on about 8 AA rechargeables and a good camera bag and I'll be set!

(I pm'ed CC to the compusa price).

CC near MONTGOMERYVILLE, PA wouldn't do it pricematch on the one I did storepickup on, they would only give me the $49.99 minus $20 rebate price I wonder if I can buy one tomorrow after pricematching to $29.99, then send in the $20 rebate since I do have the email confirmation of my order? Would they be tracking the barcodes?

That's weird. I just got back from the CC in Gurnee, IL (Gurnee Mills) and the CSR PM the BB price without any hassles at all. I just loved the look on the girls face when she finally realized how much I'd be paying for the cards that I bought after the rebate. I was able to get the 110% price difference as well, so my total was $5.99 per card plus tax after rebate. I think this is my best score so far since the Black Friday sales started. Now I need to return the 2 cards to BB that I bought for $29.99 each. I thought that was an awesome deal too, but this one is much, much better.

That's not necessarily true. I was in a BB this morning in Racine, Wisconsin and they had a big Sandisk display sitting in the middle of an aisle full of the CF and SM cards that are on special for $29.99. I couldn't believe that the thing was nearly full. Maybe it was in a spot that someone might not look for these cards?

I didn't have any problems PM with BB to CC. Actually, I've found that it's been super easy to PM since the Black Friday sale started. None of the CSR's that I've dealth with in any of the stores seem like they don't want to bother calling another store to check on stock.

I went to Circuit City and asked them to PM Best Buy. They had the BB ad right there to look it up so it was no problem. Rang it up at $29.95 and the $20 rebate came out with the reciept. The salesman said I was gonna make him cry since he had just bought one for $50 at cost.
You guys are forgetting the 110% PM policy at CC. You could've saved an extra $4 per card. Oh well.. Maybe you'll remember next time.

I've thinking my problem was ordering online and doing store pickup. Next time I'll just swoop in without warning.

Or it could be that the CSR was Indian and didn't seem to understand, so he had to go ask the manager.

Or that the manager was a woman and she was a b*tch. Everytime I've been turned down for a PM, the manager has been a woman. Coincidence? Maybe.

Well for those who got in on this deal I need your help. I was just starting to fill out the mail-in rebate form and it asks me to write down the serial number. Well where is it and which number is it!

I mean there are three separate sets of numbers on the upc and a model number on the receipt. Please help a fellow AT'er and tell me which number really is the serial # .

Thanks

CC female managers have pretty bad taste in pricematching.

Good question. I'm thinking it's the bottom number in the UPC box, but I'm not sure.

I got in on this deal but I didn't get a rebate form. Does anyone have a link or a scan they can post? Thanks

To get the rebate form goto Circuit City and click the "rebates" tab at the top. Now select "Computer Peripherals and Accessories". Scroll down almost the whole page till you come across rebate titled Sandisk - Save $10 - $30 off select memory products! 11/24-11/30 . This should take you to the rebate form.

Once you fill it out please share your ideas about which number on the upc or receipt is the serial number.

I haven't looked at the rebate form, but it's asking for a serial number? I have 2 SM cards and all the numbers (model number and UPC) are the same on both packages. I wonder if there is a serial number on the card itself? Has anyone opened their cards yet?

I finally took a look at my register rebate form for the Smart Media and I don't see one mention of a serial number. I do see the online form asking for the serial number, but the register rebate form does not.

BTW.. Did anyone find out about the serial number? My only guess is that since there are a bunch of Sandisk items lumped together on this rebate, some of the items have a serial number and some don't. I don't know where you'd find the serial number for the Smart Media cards. I'm going to have to go look at one of my opened cards and see if there is a serial number. I doubt that there is.

Well I just got off the phone with a sandisk rebate rep and concluded the number to fill in the serial# blank on the MIR form for the SMARTMEMORY is

SDSM-128-800

She tried that number in their system and came up with a result. I know it sounds like a different sandsik product, but I made a not on the rebate form that I called the rebate center and this was the number they told me would work.

I've made copies, stuffed the envelope and will mail tomorrow . Hope this helps.
