Am I right in saying there are only 4 memory slots on all the 1155 boards ?

Does that mean there dual channel ?

Is there something I am missing ?

Trying to decide on the ram for my new build.

Does that mean they're dual channel?

They're = They are
There = a location & other uses (over there, lets go there, why would you want to live there? Is there something I am missing ?)
their = something which belongs to "them", (ex: their house is on fire, their truck is nice, their selfishness knows no bounds)

Yes there are (4) slots on the boards I have seen pics of - that allows for (2) channels - A & B. With only (2) slots occupied, the modules would usually have to be installed in slots of the same color to enable dual-channel (see MB manual).

So is there a reason we don't get to use triple channel memory?

I was going to ask;

" 15 th3r3 4 r3450n w3 d0nt g3t t0 u53 tr1p13 ch4nn3l m3m0ry ? "

The motherboard doesn't support triple channel memory configuration. But you can still use memory labeled "triple channel".
If the MB has 4 slots it supports dual or single channel memory function.

I wouldn't say its the mobo's fault.
socket 1155 is for intel sandy bridge processors which only have dual channel memory support (remember, memory controller is integrated into the CPU).

socket 2011 is for intel sandy bridge processors with quad chanel memory.

Stand back, I'll say it... It's the motherboard's fault!
The MB wasn't built with a socket or chipset that support a triple channel configuration.

It's time we call a spade a spade and quit coddling these MBs. :|

you know, framing it in such a manner it IS the mobos fault. The mobo was designed for S1155 Sandybridge, if the mobo was designed for another socket/cpu it would have it.. so you are absolutely right there

I didnt know SB only support dual channel.

SB has a range of models with different types of memory controllers. One of the SB lines will only be dual channel, another has been confirmed to be quad channel, 2 other lines have not had that part of their specification made public yet.

Yes... 1.65v

to clarify, MOST (really, most!) RAM modules advertise their spec under heavy overclock AND overvolting.
DDR3 should be 1.5volts, all ram that is using higher voltage in advertised specs will actually perform lower at 1.5v (you are guaranteed under warranty that it will work at advertised spec with the voltage they demand)
But the ram has such ridiculously high specs it would should still be impressively fast at 1.5v. so what is the issue?

I am thinking about getting either one of these.

The 1155 motherboard i am going to buy will probably be the Asus P8p67 Deluxe. Running Windows 7 64. Which of the 2 would you pick?

As long as you've checked the official compatibility list for your mobo, I would go with the G Skill. I sincerely doubt there would be *any* difference between the two, so why not save the 20 bucks?
