.....Also, machines that are not intensively monitored get set to login automatically sans password just in case there is an unexpected failure.

I'd tried in the past and failed to find a way to do that, but thanks to you, a quick search brought useful results this time!

On Win10, search/run netplwiz and it's self-explanatory from there.

Thanks for the nudge to try again.

Please let me know if there are errors or problems in the stats. I am only one person and thus prone to make errors. Each spreadsheet contain many numbers and even I am 99.99% correct that means that one number out of 10 000 will be wrong. I will correct the latest stats, but not necessarily the previous tables.
Thanks, Smoke for seeing one such error in yesterday's stats. That error has been corrected now.

Big drop off in points for Tom's and our TeAm today. Personally I've had the joy of crunching some 9210 workunits across multiple machines. Yeah!

If you want to boost your own score, I found a reputable seller of some powerful GPUs here. I think this guy would knock off up to $50 each for a direct sale, only to TeAm Anandtech though.

Have had some 9211's also, had my system down yesterday for a few hours to dust and work on fan profiles.

Tony the Ti is tempting, but my 5820K doesn't have enough pci lanes for a 3rd in SLI.

Yea you are off by a cool million , which means we only need 313 M points to catch you.
(hahaha)

Petrusbroder , you are doing a fantastic job of keeping stats.
Thank you from everyone !

I'm not sure what hardware you are running , but turn off SLI for folding. Also , most cards will fold on a 4x pcie lane , so your third slot should be useable ....also you can sometimes set your pcie lanes at 8x/8x/8x

I don't keep SLI enabled by default, just for games I have it setup in the NVidia profiles.

That Armor x2 TI would look great with my other 2, Armor x2 GTX980's

Strange, the poster before you could see the offerings. You didn't go and buy them all did you?

Petrus, we all very much appreciate your hard work and dedication to the TeAm and to the annual race! Next mistake though, we will have to give you 30 lashes with a wet spaghetti noodle!

Nah, I was gonna by an Omega Seamaster Automatic for myself online $2800 certified used, of course. If I had the cases, cpus and mobos and ram to house them all, I would... I will say this about the Team here, this is addicting. I haven't built a system for my self in almost 10yrs until this year. I use laptops for convience, as well as I take old systems in that facebook malware has ruined and the owner bought something new. I love DC, especially the galaxy side of it. This could become a real bad habit for me. My wife already cringes at the Shelby Cobra I have in the garage, but to me a crunching farm would be awesome to keep the car warm all winter. LMAO!!

Here are the stats for December 10, 2016., the Nobel day and the 9th day of the 11th Annual Folding@Home Holiday Season Race.
The stats are from http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=, updated at 21:00 UTC (=12pm CST).
Only the points count. The ppd is there for information only.

The Teams' stats

The Yetis vs. The Snowmen

The daily production for the teams

The daily production for the racers

For the results for December 1 to December 8, please see the previous tables!
The folding works well ... and we are dropping production, probably because some racers, who have folded for the race with Tom's Hardware, have stopped.
Tomorrow I will restructure the teams for the final part of the race, since it is clear now, that quite a few folders have stopped production.

sorry guys, but i officially pull out of the race. i had 3 more total system crashes today, i just can't use my machine properly, and i could not find a reliable cause. it's probably some strange driver bug, but who knows?

anyway, i'm really sorry to quit. it has been a real blast doing this with you. after i'll upgrade from my SLI i'll surely come back to donate some compute time, and of course, i'll participate next year. thank you again for the warm welcome and time together. cheers!

My production has lowered approx. 300K PPD, I've shut off the crunching on the PC with two 7950 cards, due to temps and for space reasons I had to shove the PC back in the cubby under the desktop, and my overclocked i5 with the RX 460 card is semi-temporarily down. (Need the spot to work on other PCs, to get them prepped and out of my apt.)

Edit: Maybe not that much. I had forgotten, I did leave one of the 7950 cards crunching, and I hooked up my i5 with RX 460 4GB card again for crunching. Along with a shader unlock on that card. A little boost, not much. So, maybe I'm only down like 100K PPD, roughly.

Hi all,

I understand that you are about to restructure the teams of the internal race. In case your rules permit it, would you be interested to add a newcomer? About 1.5...1.6 M PPD are crawling out of the woodwork here, calling themselves xii5ku.

This is two CPU clients earning 1.4...1.5 M PPD together (two dual-socket Broadwell-EP boxes), planned to fold 24/7 for the rest of December, and a CPU + GPU client yielding about 100...200 k PPD together when running undisturbed, but those latter two will be paused during work hours.

This setup was already in operation during the week against Tom's, but it ran anonymously and therefore missed a boatload of bonus points.

Each of the first two boxes contain two Xeon E5-2690 v4 (14 cores per CPU, hence 56 threads per client). During the first week I experimented with 3, 2, and 1 CPU slots per client, and it turned out that 1 slot on 56 threads yields more PPD than 2 slots x 28 threads or 3 slots x 16 threads.

The boards manage to run the Xeons steadily at their all-core turbo frequency under load, which is 3.2 GHz for classic workloads and 2.9 GHz with AVX2. The clients mostly fetch 0xa7 units which utilizes AVX2 and earns a lot more than 0xa4 units which get occasionally mixed in.

The third box, a 10 core Broadwell-E, receives a more mixed workload of 0xa7 and 0xa4 units. The higher fraction of low-wage 0xa4 units and the lower core count both contribute to this client yielding a lot less points than the two dual Xeon clients.

Sorry, TeAm-mates, no stats today. I am still at the hospital working and will be back around midnight (local time, here in Sweden).

I have restructured the sub-teams: deninc66 and Flayed have been moved from the Yetis to the Snowmen to even the difference between the teams. This difference was due to a number of folders being around only for the race against Tom's Hardware. The Yetis lost 7 folder, The Snowmen lost 10. I hope the changes will be sufficient.
I have also simplified the tables and I hope that the tables are easier to read now.

The Teams' stats

The Yetis vs. The Snowmen

The daily production for the teams

The racers' daily production (after restructuring)

Let us see how this works out.
If you have any comments or ideas, please let me know.

BTW: Well folded, TeAm-mates!

Thank you petrus!

*******************************************

Snowmen, beware! Yeti prints were found at the base of my rotund body this morning when I awoke, and my carrot nose had been removed and placed protruding out the front of my lower snowball! An outrage!

Worse, just as I managed to get my twig arm to bend (without snapping) far enough to retrieve my carrot a neighbor drove by, wagging their finger at me!

This means war!!!

*******************************************

I lost about $1000 in value by not selling my 980's and 980Ti's back in January, and I am sure the 1080Ti is coming out soon, so I don't dare to wait until after the race to sell those same cards and risk losing even more value than I already have. That, and I just have way more heat than I need for winter.

So, I've sold 3 980's and 3 980Ti's. My ppd is dropping. I expect to settle at around 4.4M ppd. Maybe. I keep dozing off while doing the math, lol. Need to get off my butt before I'm completely asleep.

I still will have triple quad 980Ti's racing, and will soon have a third 1070 in the fight as well.

I'm going to hook up my PC with the RX 460 again, tonight, I think. Anyways, there's a "hack" for unlocking the shaders to 1024 with a BIOS flash for a couple of higher-end RX 460 4GB cards (Sapphire Nitro, and Asus Strix). I've got the Nitro card, so I might try that.

Edit: So far, so good. Looking for errors, if any. PPD increased from 89K PPD to 92K PPD, not a huge increase, on Proj 11403 WU.

I had 2 computers reboot on me due to windows update. I disabled the service, so I am not sure how this happened. Anyway, I lost at least 200,000 points due to this. Any other info on this problem ? I re-checked and 3 other computers had it enabled ! They turn it on somehow other than the service ? Its set to manual startup, and I have never enabled it, so how does this happen ?

In the context of Windows Services, "Automatic" means start at boot-time, "Manual" just means that it can be started, at some point after boot. It does NOT somehow imply that it can ONLY be started by the user, and not programmatically (it can still be started by other services).

If you want it disabled, then you pretty-much MUST set it explicitly to "Disabled". That prevents starting the service, both programmatically, and by the user.
