I added my comment about being now 49th in the world, soon to be 46th
I've got a couple of older video card machines. Can an nvidia 9800x2 and/or GTX 285 still fold? If so, which drivers work? Ive been unsuccessful so far, but wouldn't mind heating a couple of rooms for the cause.
Unfortunately cards older than Fermi aka <400 series have been phased out, however those cards still work for BOINC projects such as SETI@HomeI've got a couple of older video card machines. I have two Asus Strix 970s at 1505 MHz, has anyone got more than this out of these cards (or similar)? The stock clock is 1266MHz so this is a decent boost of 19%.
I suppose it's possible to suspend F@H in the morning and resume it in the evening fully automatically. I.e. run "FAHClient --send-pause" and "FAHClient --send-unpause" from task scheduler, or something like that. (Haven't tried it myself yet.)
I for one have just one of my F@H slots running within ear range: A 150 W rated graphics card, which is realistically pulling only 120 W or so, fitted with a 250 W rated aftermarket cooler. It's inaudible under full load, but on the other hand produces mere 80 000 PPD.

I think this is the thread where folks were having issues with windows update rebooting their PC and it would stop folding?
a fix I use is to add the shortcut for F@H to a folder in the start menu called "startup" - not sure if win10 still has that feature, but it is still on win7 of course the other way is to make F@H run through the services (no interface), but if you like monitoring and tweaking that last one is not really a viable option. the first option runs the program normally though, and will always run the program after a reboot. <my 2cents>
I bumped the races thread a week ago.Ken, less than 24 hours notice/reminder for the PG race? 40 lashes with a wet noodle for you!
