Reminder. Buy.com is going to court tomorrow 12/01/2000 at 1:30PST regarding the whole WMC thing. All the WMC are one step closer to getting a big $50 check from buy. Don't spend it all in one place.

ps - I feel that te original WMC screw-up by Buy.com as key in setting the standard on what is acceptable behaviour from an online firm. I called them several times and every time they told me I was getting the monitor.

Stark, you don't have to do anything. As long as you tried to order one of the monitors, your name and address should be in their database. I also received an e-mail and snail mail regarding the matter.

Russ - Since Buy.com cost me time and money and since I was unwilling to invest more of my time taking them to small claims court, I'll take the settlement.

Hey, I actually GOT a monitor.. will they send me the $50 anyway because of how guilty I feel? I, like Russ, believe people should not be suing Buy.Com for this.. of course, its kind of hard to be credible when you have received a monitor, but if I would NOT have received it, I would not expect a dime from them. I got lucky, they honored a mistake.. I have given them business because of it however..

crimson - without dragging the whole WMC discussion threads into it, I think you're wrong. Buy.com had horrible practices and the monitor was not the first strike against them.

I agree that pure mistakes should be allowed for. However, they shipped, they charged credit cards, and they told people who called that the deal was legit.

I personally spent at least an hour of LD a couple of times on hold waiting to talk to reps to find out what the story was. At my hourly rate, I have no trouble accepting a settlement.

ps - I looked around my computer room. One onvia intel switch, on DC240 digital camera from Office Depot, on Crosspad, a couple of computers in my cracking herd, and a few other items all were &quot;too good to be true&quot; deals from Hot Deals.

I personally wouldnt bother sueing them at all......we all know it was a mistake....i ordered one like everyone else to give it a shot.....i didnt get one.....i went on with my life.......got a nice Sony FD Trinitron sitting on my desk right now so i dont really care that i didnt get one.

Yup, same with me. I don't mind that I didn't get one, but I also don't mind a free $50 or however much it's going to be.

Since it was obviously a pricing error, I personally spent a whole five minutes filling in the cart info and clicking &quot;buy&quot;. They owe me nothing.
