I love how asking for some consideration gets you ridiculed and criticized. It's a sad sign of how low our society has sunk. "Life's not fair, Hero." No crap, Sherlock. What, do you think you're Albert freaking Einstein for thinking of that? I know very well that life isn't fair, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be. At work luncheons, I always make sure everybody has had at least one slice of pizza before I go for a second. Everybody having one slice is a lot better than me eating four and three others going hungry even if I did get to the table before them.

You find a hot deal on your own (not freakin likely) and want to exploit it? Go for it. You see an ad in the paper for a hot deal and want to exploit it? Go for it. You are kindly given a hot deal by a faceless nameless person on a community message board? Have the human decency to acknowledge their generosity and appreciate the spirit of the message board and repay it in kind.

Anyway, flame away...I know how scorned morality is in this day and age.

You've established that you are a considerate person and you've made your point (multiple times, so it seems). Instead of continuing to crap in this thread with your whining on how you missed out on this deal, why don't you take it to Brag and Moan or OT where it belongs.

Wow.....were did this come from? You either appreciate the deal or move on. But thanks for the slice of pizza.

I was thinking about picking up a dozen of these games and shipping them to Somalia for charity. I then thought that the kids in Somalia might not have fast enough video cards to handle Max Payne.

so that means if a vegetarian who is on a diet at the luncheon and broght their own salad didnt eat a single slice of pizza, so u cant have ur 2nd one according to your rules. futhermore pizza is not healthy, eat a foot long sandwich containing only 6 grams of fat, even though it costs the same as a medium pizza - this message brought to you by jerry'ed from the subway

Just to update, they still have that deal going, IF YOU CAN FIND SOME!! lol

My local CompUSA was sold out. The game sales guy said when that deal hit they only had like 10 copies, and they were supposed to get some more in tomorrow.

They did have the Railroad Tycoon, and it is Railroad Tycoon Platinum for $4.99. I got it for my dad, who isn't a gaming guy, but since he's retired now he might like building the trains or whatever you do. (plus I'm cheap )

I got in on the deal. About two minutes out of my way on the way home there's a CompUSA. I swung by and there were at least 30 Max Paynes. So your theory about me feeling jilted is, not surprisingly, wrong.

EDIT: Never mind - there's no point in dragging this out any longer.

HeroOfPellinor:

I hear you when you say that, in appreciation for the generosity of others on this board, without which we would not be able to get in on the deal in the first place, we should refrain from succumbing to greed and the profit motive. Such restraint allows those who enable the deal (and many other deals) to get in on the deal.

Agreed.

But I do wonder: Whose behavior is it, exactly, is it that upsets you so? As far as I can tell, out of all the people who posted on this thread, the most anyone bought was three, and that person was me. I explained to you why I purchased three. It's a pretty innocent motive as far as I can tell: one for me, and one each as Christmas gifts for two friends.

If there were some people bragging about how they'd purchased 10 or 20, and how they were going to eBay them all, I could better understand where you're coming from.

If you are aiming your remarks toward the lurkers whom you assume to have behaved thusly, and whom you assume to be continuing to follow this thread, I guess I could understand that too . . .

But, again, as far as I know, no one here bought more than three. That person was me.

I doubt many people would find my behavior so egregious as to merit as much criticism it has.

So again, I wonder, is it people such as myself (i.e. people who bought a few copies -- as gifts, mind you) that you're upset with?

If not, to whom are you aiming your criticisms?

- Henry

If you watch the movie "Black Hawk Down" you will see that the kids don't need the game, they play with the real thing according to the movie.

Anyway I picked up a copy last night and they had plenty on the shelves.

After not being able to reserve a copy at the store by my office, I went to the store by my house and they were getting a shipment of 15 in today. The GM there took my name down, and even gave me a 'rain check' if for some unk. reason the truck didn't make it to the store.

Put a little more faith back in CompUSA for me

(BTW, they also had BF1942 for $29.99 which I thought was a good price )

Acting condescending doesn't make you cool. Literacy, however, IS cool.

Ditto. Talk about an asshat.

Anyways, does anyone else still have the 'still processing' on their status page? I want my Railroad Tycoon!
