Oh the irony. The day before the police are doing a "walk thru" and arrest Fred Willard for squeezing one out but there isn't a cop at the Batman movie.

The guy who performed this was a coward. Throwing tear gas into a crowded and packed room; then shooting them like fish in a barrel. Coward. Coward. Coward.

I hope somebody just straight up kills him. This is horrible.

Need to get my CCW ASAP. My friend was recently mugged in what I thought was a good area of town. The world is changing folks.

Well this is definitely up there with some of the most f*cked up things I've heard in a while.

RIP to the victims of this atrocity.

Would you have felt better if he set up homemade bombs around the theater? Like they do in Iraq or what happened at Oklahoma City? I actually feel this is why more of the population should be armed, not guns taken away.

I would because it would have been a considerably rarer occurrence.

Read the headlines this morning. Man what terrible news. What's with all the mass shootings these days?

Dumbasses are able to get their hands on weapons. You can't cure "dumbass" as it's a ubiquitous worldwide problem that's an unfortunate side effect of the human condition.

I wonder if the NRA will mosey it's way on down to Denver. I'm not sure why anybody would need a semiautomatic rifle in this day and age. I'd love to hear the reasoning for the lax control on that one

Fuck you.

Keep your anti-vet P&N trolling out of the thread fuckface.

I was just in Aurora two days ago. Man, this is crazy. Not sure WTF is wrong with people, and I don't think I ever want inside their heads to see how they tick. Something seriously wrong in his head.

Maybe you misunderstood me. I am a military police officer in the Army. You know, like the ones that saved lives at Fort Hood three years ago? So, I'm about as far from anti-vet as someone can be, because I am one.

I will kindly accept your apology now.

I was merely pointing out the likelihood that this guy is former military based on his tactics, the proximity to Fort Carson, and the license plate disparity. Those are all strong indicators of military affiliation.

If you're going to bring young children to a movie theater, a midnight showing is the perfect time to do it. You can almost guarantee that they'll sleep through the whole thing.

Everyone talks about this "he would have killed people without guns" - but show me an example in recent america when organized terrorism wasn't involved? Guns give lone wackadoos too much power, that is all. Knives? A group of heroes can overtake that! Semi-automatic weapons? Not so much- tragedy is pretty much likely. Access to guns in this country has to be questioned... Liberty? What does gun ownership have to do with liberty? Do we really think the british are itching to take us over again? I just don't get the logic - I don't see the appeal of owning a gun, at all. Maybe for self home-defense but semi-automatic guns and cop killer bullets? it's stupid, and I haven't heard a good argument post 1776. I can't smoke pot nor can gays get married, fuck all this "liberty" bull shit.

The fact that you cite "cop killer bullets" suggests your naivety in regard to firearms. You reference to the British suggests the same. Hint: There is no such thing as "cop killer bullets" and the revolution was fought against the British - who just so happened to be OUR government at the time.

24-year-old white male according to CNN. I can't believe no one has found his Facebook page yet.

Aww, I thought it was an Indian male. That's what a few news agencies said. Oh well, makes perfect sense now.

This is unconscionable. Thoughts and prayers to the individuals, families, and friends affected by the actions of this man.

Absolutely devastating to learn of this tragedy.

Regarding gun control, even if there was a sign that no guns were allowed on the premise, can't you still CCW in? It's my understanding that you could have.

Such a weird conclusion to jump to, isn't it?

Not black, not hispanic, not Asian (Virginia Tech), but Indian. Definitely Indian!

Wait, he was white. Our bad, bros.

People that can't afford babysitters and want to watch a movie. I don't have kids and even I can understand that.

Ridiculous. NOT at 12:00 midnight do you bring a kid who is barely 1/4 a year old. I don't care if it's Bruce Wayne himself, if you know about the screening weeks in advanced you plan for someone to watch your kid OR you see it at a time when someone can, you do NOT under any circumstance bring them with you. I don't care if it's a Batman movie or a Rugrats movie, you just don't do it because of the time. The kid will most likely fall asleep during the dialog scenes and wake up screaming when the action ramps up.

Oh, bringing your baby to a theater at any time of the day is misguided, but I empathize - if you're a super fanboy nerd who has a kid but just can't afford a babysitter and you MUST see it opening day.. I get it, I was on a line for 2 hour for the Avengers because I *had* to see it opening day, but am fortunate enough to have a support network and a job so my baby was taken car of, but some people don't have that luxury... It's not right, but i understand it - parenting can suck and sometimes you just HAVE to escape for 2 or 3 hours with some pop corn and surround sound... Don't get me wrong, I still yell at people who don't leave the theater when their baby has a crying fit

Again, I'm not saying people who bring babies to a midnight show are parent of the year material.. I also don't think it makes them Hitler. With unemployment the way it is and people genuinely suffering, the need for a little escape is understandable to me.

But you can afford the movie tickets?

No, a concealed carry permit does not allow you to violate the law, and the law specifically states any private business can ban weapons.

It doesnt help of course, in fact all it does is help criminals find unarmed victims easier.

If someone is planning to carry illegally or commit a murder, do you really think they give a shit about some sign on your door?
