**** 12 MILLION POI for Mio C230 ONLY ****

I notice many people just registered for the first time so they can get what they want.
Which is fine! I am not going to set any limits.
But , please take a moment to think about what you can do to help the world.
( or even donate your blood )

1. Download and extract the POI data of your state.
2. go to your MIO in the "maps" folder BACKUP and DELETE your State.
3. Paste the file you download into the "maps" folder
4. restart your GPS.

*** Now, C230 only has 1GB mem build in. But 12 Million POI data might be too large to fit in. So you might have to delete more than one state to fit in your new POI.
For example, original POI for Washington State is only 20.8MB.
But new 12M POI for Washington State is 36.6MB
Let's say...you live in Washington State like me, and you don't think you will be visiting FL any time soon, then you can delete Florida POI to make room first. *****

That's all folks..... that's all the state I have got.

No hacking require, it is strictly for C230 only.
Backup the POI you are deleting, just in case you going visit that particular state.

hey maybe i am doing something wrong but once i take out cali and insert it with the 2 new files i am not on a map anymore, and i even tried to change the name of the files, maybe you can help?

you need to unrar 2 files so it will become one large one.

so im assuming that a .fbl file is the format the c230 uses in terms of storing a bulk list of poi's? and this can only be done in the internal storage, not an add-on SD card right?

i just added mass and new hampshire and deleted a bunch of western states i would never need. anything and everything i would ever want now shows up in the poi menu. its beyond awesome.

Any chance of Pennsylvania? It would be greatly appreciated. Maybe you could tell us how you're able to do this so quickly to take some of the load off. I've had the c230 for about a week now and have been wanting to do this myself.

WOW!! Thank you very much for Pennsylvania! This makes my c230 soooooo much more useful in my state. I've been trying to do what you have with POIfriend.com but it's so tedious and time consuming.
