That's quite a total. It makes you realize how efficient guns are at what they do.

yup, because the gun pulled its own trigger, and we all know it was legally registered, and bought, along with having a mind of its own to shoot innocent people...

wait...

Fact remains, Guns are unnecessary for the average person.

Who is this average person? Such blanket statements are fairly stupid. There is no such thing as an "average" person. What about a woman being stalked by her ex-husband, or an elderly man who lives in a bad neighborhood, do they not deserve a tool that can protect them when someone stronger than them attempts to use force to rob them of their lives?

Edit: Just a few days ago you were telling someone they were stupid for not believing in GW because of all the evidence to support man made global warming. However, when it comes to gun control, and all the studies that show it does not do any good, you seem to suddenly believe that research is a foolish thing to listen to. I find your lack of consistency to be very frustrating.

Gun Control does work. Just not in the US because it is too spotty.

And the 13 average people who are now dead might disagree with you.

The interesting thing will be finding out when they guy killed himself. Apparently he was not out of ammo so something must have trigged his suicide and I would not be surprised to find out that he killed himself the second the police showed up.

Shooting rampages almost always end when someone else with a gun, usually the police, shows up.

Channeling the Dead now?

I don't, but that's besides the point. Cars serve a valid purpose for the average person, Guns do not.

so, home defense is not a valid reason for an average joe? or wait, PERSONAL defense, sorta like what could possibly have been used today in order to prevent the hostage situation...

Only idiots believe that gun control will stop the slaughter of innocents. If someone has the desire to kill, they will find a way, no matter what.

I trust you have some evidence to back up your faith in gun control? Something such as maybe a reason that crime went up in Australia and England after they instituted stricter gun control laws, or perhaps a study of the assault weapons ban? Maybe tell us how many crimes the Canadian long gun registry prevented? You know there are studies on this, but you just seem to cling blindly to your faith that gun control can't be wrong. Gun control can't fail, it can only be failed?

wow, just wow!! how can anyone come up w/ this logic after a massacre like this?!?!?
lets use your logic in other situations:

A man brings cocaine to a party and gets everyone coked up and somebody thinks they can fly and jumps off the roof. according to your logic, the party goers should have brought their OWN cocaine and got the cocaine peddler high on coke, thereby only HE would've tried flying off the roof. that would've solved the problem!! lets ALL carry dangerous substances in case someone approaches US w/ a dangerous substance!

and what about escalation? if they have crappy pistols and a guy walks in w/ an assault rifle & Kevlar body armor, should we all have assualt rifles and body armor close by? next time someone approaches u w/ cocaine, give the mofo cyanide! lol

I learned something interesting a few days ago. In countries where they ban guns, people make their own.
Some pictures of homemade guns, including machine guns.

ROFL!! are u gun advocates delusional?!? I lived in Japan * korea where guns are strictly prohibited, there are NO violent crimes involving guns and no people dont make their own, never heard of such nonsense. Stop peddling that we're all inclined to own guns.

That's quite a total. It makes you realize how efficient guns are at what they do.

It makes me realize how people will place the blame on a gun rather than the real causes.

Trying to cure the symptom rather than the disease. Are you really surprised?

The real disease is the hatred for yourself and all other people.

The fact that many people need a gun to feel secure in yourself is just one symptom of this larger problem.

A need for a gun to feel secure is often a recognition of reality, especially for the elderly, or the disabled.

The truth of the matter is when people have access to guns, some people will use them for a bad end, and some people will use them for a good end.

i'm really glad u pointed this out. So, can you give me an example of how guns are used for a good end? is that like, forcing someone at gun point to give to charity? im really curious as it might very well be the most prepostorous thing i've read today, but hey its only 9pm here.

I feel sorry for convicted felons that unfairly got their second amendment rights taken away from them. Now they can't properly protect themselves from their victims, if they're still alive.

HDTVs are not designed for Stopping Power.

Which is why it's more important to own a gun.

So, why do you own an HDTV? is it because you want to? Is it because when you come home you want to be entertained by it?

Well, some people own guns because they want to. and some people own guns because when they come home they want to be protected by it.

Do you own a large house, or rent a larger apartment than necessary? Why is that? because you want to have a slightly larger house to feel more spacious?

Well some people own guns because they want to have that extra measure of security to feel more secure.

Do you own a bicycle? Do you own that bicycle because you enjoy riding it and getting exercise?

Well some people own guns because they enjoy hunting and gathering food to keep them healthy.

Do you own a couch? Why is that, because when you sit down you dont want to be uncomfortable on the floor?

Well some people own guns because they enjoy feeling comfortable knowing they are secure due to the feeling of a gun...

should i continue?

I'm sorry, but this just strengthens my conviction that everyone should have a gun.

If someone had a gun at that facility, this tragedy would have been lessened. He might have only killed two or three people before getting shot to death himself.

Criminals will always find a way to get a weapon to commit a crime, it's up to the people to defend themselves. As we saw again today, the police are simply inadequate to protect you when your life is on the line. Dudes were sitting outside drinking coffee while this guy was executing people. If just one person had a weapon on them, they could have ended this tragedy before it spiraled out of control.

It's really as simple as that.

"becaue they kill people" and so do knives, cars, swords, height, falling, heart attacks, strokes, and anal sex.
"because they cant be used for good" HUNTING.
"because i dont like them" well fine ill let that one go.
