That van is impressive. I saw a similar page where somebody got an old Plymouth Acclaim to run a 12.5 1/4 mile, sub 4 seconds 0-60.

It's not that funny. What is funny is the Renault mini-van they made for a cocept car that had one of their formula one motors stuffed in it with over 700hp. If I can find a link I will put it up.

I remember that mini-van. I also remember seeing a documentary of an F1 driver (I think it was Alessi (sp?)) who was taking it for a run on the track and said he loved it. Apparently it even had a small spoiler on the roof too.

how about that bmw x5 that they stuffed a lemans racing engine in, producing 750hp, lowered it a bit and put in the m5 tranny. the thing lapped nurburing at 165mph in a downpour!

I know this van and the owner personally. He is a regular on the Dodge Shelby forum. I own a 87 Lebaron Convertible with a similar engine, 4 cylinder Turbo. I've be restoring and hot-rodding this car for quite some time. My Lebaron has power windows, power seats, leather seats, power steering, power brakes, cruise control, tilt, AM/FM Cassette, factory computer that talks, factory aluminum mag wheels, and a host of other goodies. I've already modified the exhaust (2.5" free flow), changed computers for better spark advance, and changed injectors and air filter. It will not do 12 seconds in the quarter mile like ole Gus's van, but closer to 15 last time I ran it. It's just a lot of fun beating Mustangs and Camaro's all day long with just 4 cylinders!

Hheh someday these kids with their imports will learn. Its a plain old 4cylinder dodge turbo car, well in this case van. Dodge man a ton of them in the 80's. There is also a 10 second Reliant with a 4cyl turbo dodge motor in it. Great little cars.

I have seen this mini van in person. What a ride, the guy that own it is cool as hell. There are 3 or 4 of these same mini's running 12's and 13's. That goes to show you never underestmate the power a a turbo.

I have actually met Gus of the Gus mean mini page that is listed as this fellows blue print for customizing his mini. Also..Gus is also the guy who did the Acclaim. Wangel, I just sold my 86 Dodge Shelby 2.2 turbo :/. Do you know Phil W. from Massachusetts who belongs to that list?

Anybody - what city does he live in? I'm in MA, the only person that's into these cars that I got to meet was in North Attleboro. I bought my car from him actually, and he knows a few people on the list. Now that I have a Shelby Dodge, I want to start going to the SDAC gatherings, etc. Anyone else here go to the get-togethers?

Skoorb, after how much $$$? These guys are backyard mechanics, they fabricate their own equipment and controls. 9 out of 10 fast Hondas have had engine swaps done, which kinda brings them to a league of their own due to the work done. And the ones that can do under 10s with their stock engine go for bug bucks (Supras and RX-7s for the most part), and the cost to upgrade those engines is veeery expensinve.

I wanted to mod my 1992 Toyota Previa. This had the n/a ver. I think some person modded the supercharger and did quartermiles. However, he added a body kit and weighed it down. If my mom ever gives me the Previa I'll start modding it.

BTW the Previa has a 2.5L (I think) Straight 4 with 128hp... its a weak car. I dunno why it runs so well though.
