I work at a tv studio. None of the cables are gold-plated. Don't burn the cash.

LOL, I was just on Amazon and this exact product was recommended for me for some reason. It was a six foot HDMI cable with the gold contacts, $1.19, I shit you not.

The interwebs are starting to show just how smart they are by knowing I was in a post about these earlier and now recommending them to me, we are all doomed.

Just in case some idiot thinks that you were serious in the first post - the D in HDMI is digital. There is no fast or slow. They either work, or they don't. There is no "work better." The zeros and ones either get through, or they don't get through.

Of course, you don't want to bend the cable too sharply - the signal is just zeros and ones. If you bend the cable sharply, sometimes the ones get stuck in the corners.

LOLers on the customer reviews.

"
Don't know what the previous 2 posters were watching but, this cable produced the best image out of the 4 I tried from FutureShop.
The cheap Dynex was a waste of time, I had white flashes/sparkles on my Panasonic plasma. Tried the Rocketfish next, picture was okay on a Rogers HD box, but I had lip sync issues on several Bluray discs. Went to the Monster 960 series and had no issues. Looked and sounded good.
For the @#$% of it, I switched to this 1000 series. I thought it was just me, but the colours appeared to be a bit more realistic. Between myself and four other family members, we ALL could see the difference. Is it worth it over the 960 series, I thought so, but thats up to you. Is it worth it over the cheap Dynex or Rocketfish? Definitely.

I have access to some ultra-rare, plaid-speed HDMI cables.

And since you're such a nice guy and AT member, I'd be willing to ship them to you for $100.

Yes! cheaper than what you pay for these piddly high-speed cables!

I can even get you 5 of them, for a discounted price of $450, if interested.

digital signal is digital

Pay attention only to this.

If the zeros and ones arrive you have a perfect digital signal. If they do not arrive you have no signal, so if you get a picture it will be perfect and if you don't the cable doesn't work. A 5 dollar or a 100 dollar cable transmit only zeros or ones and they come through or they don't. It doesn't make the slightest difference of the zero is loud or soft, fuzzy or clear if it is a zero and is read as a zero it's the same zero regardless.

You are being robbed because you really think you get what you pay for. And regardless of the fact that the 5 dollar cable is just as good you may buy the expensive one anyway because logic mean nothing.

Might as well make a gold replica of your brain and use that as a cable, would cost the same.

This cable is simply out of this world. It will transform your movie viewing experience and your life. I used to pick up decent girls that were about a 5 or a 6 and after I've purchased this HDMI cable I've been dating super models. I have no idea what kind of metal is used to manufacture this cable but it must be an unknown element that does not exist on the periodic table as it has given the true powers, the power to attract stunning women. Just the other day I've noticed that my hair has grown fuller just above my forehead, my waistline went from a 38 down to a 31, grown bigger muscles in certain places, and the best of all is I'm already engaged to a hot young blonde girl who is filthy rich, all in a matter of two weeks. This cable get an 5/5 in all aspects because it will make you: beautiful, skinnier, and richer. I can't help it but share this amazing life-changing experience after I purchased this HDMI cable.

Actually, the D stands for Definition. HDMI = High Definition Multimedia Interface.

Therefore, gold plated = zomg higher definition!!

Am I the only idiot interested in a nice gold plated ultra high speed HDMI cable?

Only if they are cryogenically frozen in liquid nitrogen first. This helps align the metallic crystals in the cables to the magnetic field of the earth. If you move to another State you must re-freeze the cables to 'reset' their alignment.

The expensive cables also add a touch of class if your hi-fi rack is stacked with 2x8s and milk crates.

I once had a cheap HDMI cable that caused pink sparkles. I was surprised because I thought that either it worked or it didn't... I didn't know it could have interference like that.

This said, I didn't buy an expensive cable... I just threw it away and bought another one for $3.
