I won't buy another Winchester core from a vendor, I'd rather buy it from an individual who will read me the manufacture date & stepping code. The difference that I saw between the 0504 that I bought brand new from MWave & the 0441 VPMW that I bought from a guy on ebay a few weeks later was monstrous. Check this, the 0504 would run no higher prime95 stable than 215fsb x 9 cpu multi = 1.935ghz on 1.5v. The 0441 I have had all the way up to 311fsb x 9 cpu multi = 2.799ghz on 1.5v prime95 stable!!! I've cut it back to 2400 till my xp-90 gets here . I got the chip for $152 shipped, and have been extremely pleased ever since. The latest batch of Winnys blow for oc'ing, do some searching for a 0441-0444, WELL worth the effort.

You just got a bad 05 CPU. My 0504 Winnie 3200+ is running at 253x10@ 1.5v prime stable with stock cooling and Corsair ValueRam 2.5-3-3-11 2.8v.

I paid $190 from Newegg. This is a good deal. Wish I had waited a little longer to pull the trigger.

253 x 10 is not exactly great. Thats a 530 mhz overclock. And only about 25%
A 3000+ that does 2.6 is an 800 mhz oc, = about 40%.
a 3200+ NEEDS to do atleast 2.8 to come close to the value of the 3000+s.

The money you spend on getting a board that will run 300+ could be saved on the higher multiplier...works out about the same in the end

It depends, do you want a plain jane mostly not OC'd CPU, or do you want to OC your CPU? 25% OC'ing is pretty good, and might want to make me go for a deal like this, especially considering it's a 939, which will play with dual-core goodness soon.
