RAID 6 is more reliable than RAID 5 but has more of a performance loss than RAID 5. RAID 6 is seldom used... only for very mission critical applications. RAID 6 can lose two disks and still not fail (not lose any data). So it's N-2 -of- N:G system as opposed to N-1 -of- N:G for RAID 5.
