Hey all, new member. Once a friend told me about it I had to sign up! At any rate, I ordered 2 sticks of this memory when it was $92. I received my shipment 3 days later and opened it up. It was someone else's order. I called them and they had me ship the memory back. I received my order two days later (2nd day air). I plugged it in and I guess hoped too much. I am building a new system and have an A7V MB. I set the memory to run at PC133 via BIOS and under chipset configuration there is an area where you can designate SDRAM specs. If I set it to 7ns(143MHz) and cas2 the memory fails practically all tests under "DocMemory PC Memory Diagnostic Software V1.45 - 2000." If I set it to 8ns(125MHz) and cas3 it passes all tests. I just thought I would share. I don't have sandra yet, and am going to download it too. DO I just have my settings messed up, or is this cheaper ram?

rchala, this is generic stuff so hitting 143 cas 2 i guess is idealistic. I was hoping and waiting to see if it could so i could buy some but oh well. Can you verify that it does 133 @ cas 2 though?

Hey all, I have tested more with numerous different BIOS settings. Then only settings that allow the memory to pass the "DocMemory PC Memory Diagnostic Software V1.45 - 2000" test suite is: DRAM Frequency-either 100 or 133MHz, 8ns, cas Latency 3T, Ras Pregharge Time 3T, Ras to Cas Delay 3T. I hope this helps. I just downloaded "Sandra". After I install, how do I find out more info about the memory modules?

I ordered this ram on the 28th and have yet to recieve it nor get an email order status on it. How long did it take you to get your ram? they state SAME DAY shipment....so im assuming their all the way on the WEST coast or something because its been 5 days and i havent gotten my ram yet nor have they sent me an order status info after forwarding my receipt.

Hey, you ordered on the 28th?? There is definately something wrong. My order was shipped the 2nd day after I placed the order(sure it went to the wrong guy, but hey, at least it was shipped... ) I would give them a call and find out. If it hasn't shipped yet, tell them to cancel the order and buy from someone else. My experience is the generic stuff they are selling would only do 124MHz @ Cas 3.

I'm running Win2000 also and SisSoft Sandra 2000 Pro doesn't show the Dimm info as far as I can see when running the memory module. I did run DimmID and it shows my micron 133 with the following numbers...16LSDT1664AG-133C7 ...anyone know if that is cas 2?

Also, anyone know of any benchmark utilities that work on memory on Win2K...

We are on the same boat. I also have Win2000 and Sandra is not showing any info on memory. I am waiting for Samantha (Win2000 version of Sandra) to come out.

Kirsten, if you read earlier in the thread someone had that problem and was recommended some software that worked, check it out.

I can't believe it doesn't run 133 cas 2... can more people verify this? I hate false advertising... either way, it's almost assured that even if it does 133 cas 2 it won't do 143/144 cas 2.. oh well.

How do we verify that indeed it can run at 133 cas2 properly? Can you do this in Sandra? I know i can run my current pc100 at cas3 at pc133. I hope this isnt like pc133 cas3 memory that they deemed can be reached cas-2. Is there anyway to tell by looking at the markings on the ram or label to see what its really rated for?

well, the label would indicate flat out cas 2 or cl2 or 2-2-2... but i assume the label WOULD say that, cuz THEY say that on their site. As for finding out if it truly is pc133 cas 2, sandra can tell you that under mainboard info then Memory Modules. It tells you everything about the ram right down to the brand. But someone posted that it didn't show up under the memory module. Not sure about it

I think they ment it didnt show up under win2k's sandra. Has anyone gotten this ram and run it on Sandra for win95/98 or any other memory diagnostics programs? Because i would much have rather gotten 2 cheap 60 dollar pc133 chips that will run at cas-3 then one generic chip that might or might not run at cas-2 past 133.

I ordered this memory on the 20th and received it today (Honolulu). This is what Sandra had to say under Windows ME:Memory Module 300E1200 128MB 8x(16mx8) SDRAM PC133U-333-542 (CL3 up to 133MHZ) (CL2 up to 100 MHZ). Ran the Memory Bencmark (ABIT KA7, Athlon 700, Mem 133 MHZ, Turbo, 4 Way, CAS 2)ALU 413 MB/S, FPU 507 MB/S, compared to 1GHZ Athlon, 128 MB PC-133, ALU 434 MB/S, FPU 521 MB/S. Seems like a good buy to me.

maybe im mistaken but how is this a good buy? They were rated cas-2 at pc133 on the website. your sandra is showing cas2 at pc100 and cas3 at pc133. maybe they ment to say that this memory was capable of reaching cas2 at pc133 but they werent originally built to do so. I am questioning this because i wanted to overclock this memory past 133. doesnt look like its gonna happen at cas-2 but more likely at cas3. sigh...oh well.

Sandra is a great program but it won't tell you if your system is running properly. To see if all's well run the Prime95 torture test for 10 or 15 minutes. That will weed out any flaky memory or cpu bus speeds. Windows may run fine but until you stress the system you can't be sure your really stable and Prime95 will show it quickly.

Hi all, first off, I don't have a 'memory module' section in my version of Sandra. I checked in the 'mainboard info' and it isn't there. It is a fresh download of their trial version. Do I need to upgrade to get full functionality?

Next q... what is Prime95?
