128mb 9600xt vs 256mb 9600 pro?

which of these two cards performs better? i'd rather get the faster card, but with the mem difference not sure why the 50 dollar price gap?

DO NOT get a 9600 pro 256mb. The card can't make use of the memory, plus it's clocked at 400mhz instead of 600mhz like the 128mb version. I would recommend you just get the 9600 pro 128mb if you want to save money.

the 256mb has slower memory, it will get owned by the 128mb xt

Only a 9800 pro or xt can use 256MB and only then for 1600x1200 with AA/AF. On a 9600 the extra RAM is worthless.

DO NOT buy the 256mb version. i did and am sooooo mad about it.

It is severely underpowered in comparison with the 1289600Pro or XT.

otherwise you'll be saving up for a real card like me...
