Also, they seem to be giving free ground shipping, and they don't charge sales tax to California, and many other states.

I ordered two for a grand total of $97.90 delivered. With ebates, I guess I will get back another 98 cents.

Will this work with a Celeron 433 ThinkPad? IBM says that I should only use PC66 ram, but I've used PC100 ram with my desktop and nothing bad happened. Is IBM full of it?

Where does IBM say to use only PC66 memory? OTOH, Dell also sells it for the same price. Search for "128mb sodimm".

AFAIK, you should have no problem using faster RAM than specified by the manufacturer. As long as it has the specified or higher MHz rating, all you should have to worry about are the parity, ECC, the CAS latency (CL2 vs CL3), and the amount of RAM you can put in one slot.

Crucial Technology has an online database you can use to identify exactly what type of memory you should put into your computer.

As far as I can tell, there is no part number listed at dell's site. Am I just missing something? I am wondering about compatibility with my ibm thinkpad t20. I mean you look at kingston's site, and everything is specific to each laptop. Any help in this regard would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

From my exprience with laptops, as long as it's a P2/P3/Celeron/K6-2 and up system then this should work. There are rare instance where the laptops will look for particular Dimms(The EEprom is programmed with a specific code to work) but on the whole SDRAM SO-DIMMs are just like regular Sdram. And unless the ram is made by SyncMax or another 2nd tear ram manufacture the rule is that faster can go slower e.g. put PC133 in a PC66 system. Earlier laptops either use EDO So-DIMMs or Small Factor SIMMS. I hope this helps.

You can use Kingston's (or Crucial's) guide to get the part number for the Dell computer and for the IBM computer. I bet they are the same part, except if one is PC100 and the other PC133. SODIMMs are as standard as DIMMs. I did this for my Compaq.

BTW, I bought from them in January and alsos paid $4 for s/h.

Since the website wasn't as specific as the Kingston memory guide, and I didn't want to take a chance, I called the 800# and asked for the part number kingston had listed. They quoted $73.95 but price matched to $48.99 when I told them about the price on their website. This way I was able to get the great price AND make sure it was the part number I needed.

I bought ram from crucial some time ago, and the problem I ran into with PC100 ram was that it was 1mm too big to fit under my keyboard--so I had to get PC66 ram in order to get it to fit.
