128MB RAM PNY PC100 for ~20.00after rebates

woohoo, i just got it!
the CSR said that they called the Manufacturer and the two items (at onvia and stapes) were different (not explained to me)! He explained this after putting me hold AFTER he agreed to pricematch it (whew!).

So, he did pricematch it for me!


I got a box of paper clips along with that since I needed some and my total was $54.24!
Im gonna fill out that rebate thing now!

ps. keep on calling and trying but the csr i talked to said that they called manufacturer and confirmed that the two chips were different somehow... i dunno if they gonna continue accepting pricematches

Yahoo I love you guys for all the hot deal hookups! The CSR thing, you just need to get a nice one. I notice that I have had sucess with the female CSRs over the males. Most of the males would keep telling me the numbers aren't the same and crap like that. For the ATA100 controller they say two letters were diff from onvia (HD vs PC). I was like comeon it's the same thing. They say sorry no can do. Now I called back got some lady and she did thepricematch on the RAM and she posted a note to pricematch the ata100 for me too. I seriously hope the ata100 goes through too. Well time to do some work before I flunk outta school from trying to get all these hot deals. Good luck deal hunting guys!

When I say I would like to buy a memory and price match with a website, he says "with onvia?", I say yeah. Then he say to me the Manufacturer's Number is different ...... damn, it seem that almost everyone of them know about this now

i've used some pny ram before, i have always had good luck with overclocking them, i doubt it will hit pc133 cas2, but it should do it cas 3. Who cares, 15 bux!!!!!! even if it was 64 it would be a hot deal, and if it was 32, a lukewarm/warm deal, but for 128mb!! SMOKING HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know people, I called saying I wanted to pricematch some ram and the guy already knew the whole story and went straight into explaining why they weren't the same and that staples "refresh rate" was better and therefore a higher price. Sounds like a load of crap to me, oh well I don't feel like calling back 20 times. It seems like word is getting out and any of the CSRs who don't know about it right now, will really soon.

well i remember the "special" coupon days. staples never charged me the actually prices and just took the loss so i think it shoudl be the same this time. we never really violated any of their terms as far as I know of so we shouldn't be penalized.

yea, as long as they confirmed it and eveyrthing, than it's not upon us, the worst they will do is probably warn the csr's that let it go through, but i doubt that will happen anyways. I bet they are still making a profit on these things..i mean they are selling them for 150+ dollars, it's worth like 60 bux!!

I just want to say i pricematch this before.
The ID tag Staples have on this item is none existant.
Its a typo. In PNY site there is only one type of PC-100 Memory at PC-100.
If they become annoying just tell them that they made a typo = ).

Just spoke with CSR. She told me: "we have been notified that this is not the same memory. We have contacted PNY and bla bla bla .." - in other words - no pricematch for you

No they have not I just got off the phone and the guy seems worried
but i told him directly that there is no such item that they have.
He said they will be a meeting and he will call me back.

After they have offended me, I think ill just go buy my Vodoo 5500. Just so i can stick it to him
and tommorow call back and ask for my memory.

i dont think they'll cancle it (i hope not). i just went to check my order and it only shows the pricematched price--no mention of their $170 ram. it also shows the -$20.

if anyone knows if these can hit 133 cas 2 (verified) let us know.
