im not getting anything with that link...

its the rebate that says:
$30 MIR on PNY 64MB SDRAM (PC100 or PC133 DIMM) & $ 40 MIR 128MB SDRAM (PC100 or PC133 DIMM)

whats the SKU number for the PNY? 64174ESEM-CS or 394875 ?

hehe, i gotta get this thing done so i can get back to work!

I was still able to get to the rebate form, both online and mail in forms, through the Staples website. Go the rebates and search by manufacturer and look under PNY. That's where I found it. If you guys can't find it still, I'll print out one extra and whoever needs one I'll make copies and send it to you.

I feel empowered as a consumer. I finally got the deal after many times of calling and getting different stories, heres what they told me, this isnt a joke:

"i see youve called 12 times in the past 2 days, ordinarily we dont do this, but my manager says that if u promise not to call again, well give u the deal"

Haha, my ram is supposed to come tomorrow for $55 and a $40 MIR.

now since onvia has them in stock again and staples should know that both onvia and staples pny are the same, maybe i should try for another one for my sister up north?

Man staples sucks. I tried doing this again since we have discovered that these two types of ram are in fact the same(which we knew all along) and the first CSR I talked to gave me the same old speech. I told her that they were not the same and that we had called PNY and verified this. She let me talk to her supervisor and the supervisor admitted that even though these are the same ram, corporate headquarters would not give them the authority to price match this item due to the difference in item number(which staples made up). Weak sauce, I bet if I had kept on bitching I probably could have gotten it, but I just don't want to bother. What a bunch of lamos, adding a made suffix to the item number to get out of pricematching. I'll still print out the mail in rebate form in case anyone can't get to it.

if you're missing the &quot;not an invoice&quot; sheet (that's the receipt as defined by staples), call staples and they'll fax it to you.

UPDATE: the rebate form is on the Staples Rebate Center website, but you have to accept their cookie to get the rebate form.



But the form says that the rebate applies to the purchase ...at Staples stores only. Will they accept it you purchased from the catalog or website???

hehe guys, just scan for 394875 on the Search Page and the 2nd box where it says &quot;Search by Staples SKU, UPC, Keyword or Rebate Number&quot; type in 394875. the thing it seems most of the ppl trying this method is forgetting to choose the dropdown box and switch that to SKU/UPC.

preCRT, i don't think that really matters...

i think that was just trying to claim that the same product bought in other stores (like CompUSA or Office Depot) wont be given a rebate to since it wasn't purchased from Staples.

but, guys... on the online form it says:
Please enter the following information:
SKU Number or UPC Code: ________________

i've asked this numerous times, i guess you guys haven't seen it lol

is the SKU number 394875? or 64174ESEM-CS?
or
(look at upc label) is the UPC code including the 7s on each side (12digit number) or without the 7s on each side of the bar code (10 digit number)?

im confused...help

what in da world...

hmmm, i tried to fill out one of those rebate forms (erorred out a few times before)
and i get to the 7th step to try to goto the page with the envelope to print or whatever...
and an error occurs and am sent back to the original rebate page

i check the status of my rebate and i see 3 of the same rebates under my name...

dang scripts, i hate when it does triple posts

just ordered one, works out pretty good. No more BS from them today.
Anyway, does anyone know if staples is selling PNY 128mb PC133 ram also? I couldn't find it on their website.


Edit: I forgot to mention that their paper clip is on back order now, so don't bother with item number ACC72380 if you want your memory right away

yep.
just call them up with the item# and tell them you want to pricematch that item with another item from onvia.com and the csr usually ask for &quot;how they could find the item on the web site the quickest&quot;... when you give them a way to find it (but most csr knows about this deal anyways), then they would agree or disagree with an excuse...

if they agree, then they just ask you if you want to add it to your list, you agree and they ask for anything else you want to add and you add anything else you want.

at the end, when you are ready to check out, say you have a coupon you wanna use... tell them the coupon number and cc/your information and they give you an order number that you can use to track online...

Thanks for the info, I just called and tried to order but was told that item was not in stock. I called back and talked to a different CSR just to make sure and was told the same thing. They both said that it was expected back in stock next week, which just happens to be after the rebate period is over.:Q Imagine that!:|

Well just get off the phone with staples CSR, he is a nice man though so I don't want to give him a hard time eventhough I cannot pricematch.
it is strange when I gave him my cust#, he said that he has to call his supervisor becuase it looks like my cust number has been lock and has to wait for 5 minute until he can unlock it, too many pricematching maybe ....

Try ask the CSR to use different zip code and see if other warehouse has it.
Usually they will do this for you, but not always.

Staples CSR said it won't arrive til 12/4/00.

Hmmm...the rebate form says it must be purchased between 11/23/00 and 12/2/00, I wonder if they'll try to change the purchase date on the invoice/receipt from today to December 3 or 4?????
 

Ive read a bunch of bad stories about the CSR reps.
Do they not have supervisors? Dont take a shove off.
Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Ask them how your best friend got the same exact thing.
Just a little word of advise.

Ok I feel that I have the best grasp on how staples works considering the following:
1. Me and my friend have called literally over 20 times, spoken with numerous CSRs, Supervisors, basically everyone.
2. I was phoned by the president of the company (BTW She is a very nice lady)

Heres how it works, the corporate segments told them not to let anyone have it and to make up excuses as to why not.
The latest excuse weve been getting is by far the cheesiest, &quot;Onvias website says its out of stock&quot; Meanwhile Im at the website looking at the product and in green letters it says &quot;In Stock&quot;, and for the hell of it I asked her what color the Out Of Stock was in, and she said Green, moron. Ive also talked to numerous supervisors, if you get one named Dave or Stephany, they are completely rude @ssholes. Anyways, Im happy because the President gave me the ram for all my trouble, but my friend is left in the dust getting told false lies every time.
