Found a real price match to get 64MB to about $20. It's 99.97 at staples, pricematch at aol.com for $50 + $20 shipping to take it to about $70 then use a 20 off 50 coupon to get it to 50 and then there is a $30 rebate to take it down to $20. Part number is 64174ESEM-CS. If aol didn't have $20 overnight shipping then it would be pretty much free, still looking for other places that have free overnight shipping but there aren't many. Aol.com also has the 128MB version for $90 + 20 shipping to 110 - $25 off 100 takes it to 85 - $40 mir takes it to $45 which isn't too bad for some good quality ram.

btw, if you search for 384153 you get some 64MB PNY instead of our 128MB. what's up with that?

OK, got in contact with PNY and gave them these two part numbers 64814ESEM4G-PC and 64814ESEM-CS and he said that they were EXACTLY the same thing. The difference in the numbers was just packaging differences. This means that as soon as onvia or buy.com get it in stock then the price match should work.

Hey guys which is the receipt you use to mail-in for the rebate? The last time I used a Staples packing list(looks like invoice) thing, which the CSR told me to use, I never got my rebate.

The Staples rebates I have had ask you to copy the bill of sale/receipt and also send the UPC symbol off the package. If you deviate from their instructions they will use that as an excuse to invalidate the rebate. Make sure the bill has the correct SKU # to match what the rebate wants. You can track you previous rebates online at Staples and it will tell you whether it is Valid or Invalid. They will usually send out a card in the mail that tells why it is a no-go. You can sometimes resend in stuff to get it changed to valid. If you still get a hassle, you can take your story to a B&M Staples and they might fix it for you there. I did that once but the item was bought at a different B&M not through the web site. It depends on where you got it (maybe) and what mood the Store Manager is in.

Staples is pulling such a f*ckin scam, everytime i call (about 5 times) i get a different story. I mean god damn if they want to not give me the ram at least stick to the same frickin story. Heres what ive got so far
1. Staples doesnt have it in stock and we cant back order
2. Onvia doesnt have it in stock (although they did when i checked)
3. The word "upgrade" is in the title so it cant be the same
4. The part numbers dont match
5. (I actually got it accepted) but they wanted to charge me 29 friggin bucks for next day delivery and they wouldnt let me have it ANY other way.
6. (the one i think is the truth) The guy reads "we have a bulletin saying to not sell any customers this ram with a pricematch"

Any idea what I should do? Im following their store policies, and they feel like making stuff up.

i think this deal died sunday night when i ordered the item...
the csr said that i was one of the lucky ones to actually successfully order this item.

he put me on hold 2 times on my first call, i think for the first hold he asked some of his other csr buddies and some of them already let the pricematch go through (since exact same) so he accepted my pm after about 4 minutes of being on hold.

then the second time, he just randomly put me on hold (i guess it was spreading around in the building) and came back and said that they would no longer accept the pricematch anymore because they called PNY and differentiated between the staples one and the onvia one. but he said he'll accept my pricematch anyway since he already agreed to it before he got the news.

i ordered it with a box of paper clips... got the $25 off
the order status page has showed that the delivery time was going to be sometime between 9AM to 5PM today, but i haven't gotten it today.

i called csr about it and he said he put a note on my order for the warehouse people and to call me directly if there were problems? with the order... d*mn, i hope they really arent out of stock on these and they send this thing tomorrow!

btw, if the method of delivery is staples courier, then does that means one of their delivery guys drive from the nearest staples store? the closest staples store is about 50 miles north of me... hmm... and anyone know if the staples delivery person leaves the item at the door or leave a note to pick it up somewhere?

I just got mine today, WOOHOO!!!

only problem is with the rebate. do i print out the online recipt?

all i got from the dilvery guy is a computer print out (those old dot matrix ones) that says what i got (description: "envelope" hehehehe) and a recipt. but the recipt has in red "THIS IS NOT AN INVOICE" so i dont know if i should use that one.

anyone know what to do? guess i'll call them tomorrow unless someone already knows

OMG!!! I just did it! I got the PNY 128MB PC100 pricematched at Onvia for $74.99. I added paper clips and then used a $25.00 coupon. Total after tax and rebate: $13.91!!!

You have to ask for item #394875 to get the RAM. The first time I called, I didn't know the item number and the CSR couldn't find any PNY 128MB PC100 ram in his system. It's not on the website anymore either. I called back a few minutes later, got another CSR and gave him the item number I found earlier in this thread. There were only 3 left in my area, so I guess they're almost out.

i called up the staples rebate center and the guy told me to just send in the rebate + upc + the recipt (even if it says "This is not an Invoice" in red).

you should have recived 2 pieces of paper when the staples guy came to yer house. one should be that sheet that you signed and the other will come in that plastic wrap which is the staples print out recipt which will have "THIS IS NOT AN INVOICE" on it.

everyone should make copies of the stuff they will mail out.

I second. That one is the truth. Sore losers. Wish you had an email to that effect, would love to throw that up on Cnet or something.

Do you think they sit around in meetings every morning looking at the last day's order sheets trying to pattern match these kinds of deals and stop them? I'd PAY to be a fly ont the wall at that meeting. But now I've got bigger problems.

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE POST UP THAT STAPLES REBATE FORM FOR THE PNY RAM!! Even a Scan would do! They took it off of their site.

doh... i never got the staples receipt cause there was nothing in the box except the pny and box of paper clips... and some air filler things.

is the online rebate form reliable? it doesn't seem to require any receipt... just gotta mail them the upc code... the SKU# for the pny is 64174ESEM-CS right?
