Lot's of no reserve prices starting at $9.99. Has anyone ever gotten a good deal by taking advantage of the no reserve items? I can't believe there's 129 pages of xBox in there.

There are also alot of $650 prices with no bids. lol. I think people were planning on financing their Christmas with xBox private sales. lol

I'm actually more curious about getting into one of the NR auctions. Will the seller just outbid people so he doesn't have to sell? I'm really thinking about exploiting this one. People were in line Wednesday night at 6pm to buy these and put them on ebay. I'd love to buy one for 50 bucks.

I wouldn't take an XBOX for free. XBOX should be called GarbageBOX, as it breaks so easily. My friend broke his ALREADY.

Plus, it's the hype of a 733MHz processor in it. The Gamecube should just say their processor is a 733+ like the Athlon XPs market themselves, because I can guarantee above average performance from the GC. Oh well, we'll see.

Once people will pay more than the MSRP then the world is in trouble. It's a freaking video game. They are almost as bad as those nerds that wait in the movie theatre forever to see Episode 1.

Oh yeah....time to get on topic...It's e-bay. You're going to get ripped off most likely. And nobody will sell for $50.

"Oh yeah....time to get on topic...It's e-bay. You're going to get ripped off most likely. "----Like that makes sense??? there are tons of decent deals on the Bay as long as you know what your looking for and how much to spend.

Yeah the GameCube is a P.O.S. I predict it will go the way way of the Sega Saturn.

Heh.... So true... However if you look back over time the target age group for the X-Box is the same generation whose parents shelled out $350.00+ for Tickle me Elmo, Furbys, and the like at christmas time.....

The Parents obviously lose all sense of reality and perspective at Christmas Time.... For that matter anytime the kiddles want the hot new bigger better more thing.... A mom I know told me yesterday she shelled out $50.00 a piece for opening day tickets for Harry Potter to a guy on the street....... I didn't have the heart to tell her I paid the face value of $7.00 a piece at the box office yesterday....

I am a Father of two girls (not that they want an Xbox, I suspect I have more interest in it than they do.)... I have a feeling they are going to hate me later in Life and I will probably wind up paying huge bills to a therapist becuase I don't go that way..... "You want an Xbox?? Okay as soon as they go onsale after Dec 26th... Oh Yeah.. GO CLEAN YOUR ROOM !!!!" It probably stems from my own childhood issues, I didn't get an Atari 2600 until the Christmas after they were released... I sat for a year forlornley playing PONG and staring and the Tear Stained Pages of my Sears Wish Book ..............

I have to agree. THe parents that are spending $300 and much higher for these, just to make their kids happy and sit in front of the TV longer, are probably the same people when they were 10 - 14 that just had to have a Cabbage Patch Kid, that their parents spent $300 - $500 for a $29.95 doll.

If you want an XBox - Just wait, after Christmas these things will be sitting on the shelves for anyone to buy. Besides it's like most everything else Microsoft releases, Never buy it right when it comes out, Wait till the first Service pack is released (approx 4 - 6 months).

Just my $.02 worth...

He doesn't really lose. He justs wastes time.

He pays the listing fee. He'll have to pay the percentages, but I'll bet the winning bidder doesn't pay so he will file for a refund (non-paying bidder).

If the winning bidder does pay then, well, I don't think he'll care about the fees.

A couple of points:

1)Last year there was an overwhelming number of bidders with ZERO history that drove the PS2 bid price to $3000.00. A month later you could see tons of negative feedback for these bogus bidders.

2) From SEAN (above)

I'm really thinking about exploiting - it is not worth your time. Experienced sellers on e*ay will see fraud and handle appropriately.

3) I would suspect that the GAMECUBE will be a better ebay item than the xbox - comments?

Either that, or he'll either refuse to sel it to you, or he'll take your money and run. I remember last year, a fellow AT'er got lucky and won a ps2 auction for like $275. The seller made up some lie about it, and didn't sell it to him.

If this were 5 years ago and there were that many of something on Ebay, yeah you'd be able to get a killer deal. But there's way too many crazy people who will bid on something no matter what the cost these days.

Gamecube might be a better seller on eBay only because of the alleged shortage. The Xbox supposedly is pretty readily available, unlike the PS2 was a year ago. Having looked at the lineup of the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube, if you have to choose among the three, go for the ps2. The problem with the xbox is an uncertain future - there's no doubt that Halo is much, much better than any gamecube launch title. In the short term, the xbox also has more games lined up for the holidays. If you are looking long term, it's a tough choice - neither seem to have much coming up through the pipes till mid 2002.

This person who broke their xbox - how did they do it?

I played X-Box at Walmart and it was pretty good, but I'll stick with my computer. I'm sure it wont take long before there is an emulator out. You will of course need a fast computer, but I have one of those anyway Anyone is nuts who will pay more than $299 for one of these when you can buy one a month or two later for that price anywhere. I would never spoil my kid by paying too much. I'd rather just take the money I would have spent and get them something more, or just give them the money. That would make you a real hero! "Here's $100, and in a couple months I'll get you an X-Box." I would take that deal, and the kid is happier than if you had gotten the console for him/her.

With the release of Nintendo's GameCube coming in up in a few days Microsoft prepared itself to have the units on the shelf if a customer wants it. There are plenty of units availabe in stores for 299.99...ie..Wally World, Target, K-Mart, Sears. There is a high demand for the units but there is also a plentyful supply.

DO NOT PAY A PREMIUM FOR THE X BOX...
DO NOT PAY A PREMIUM FOR THE X BOX...
DO NOT PAY A PREMIUM FOR THE X BOX...
DO NOT PAY A PREMIUM FOR THE X BOX...
DO NOT PAY A PREMIUM FOR THE X BOX...

Just concerned for those that think that there is a shortage. As for the EBAY 2000.00 bid. I doubt that it is a real bid.

Most places were sold out within three hours yesterday. Many stores only got 20-30 units. Nice job on that 1.5 billion dollar ad campaign there Microsoft. Hype it up and then don't have any to sell. Nintendo could win big here becuase they're supposed to have abundant supplies of the Game Cube.

This conflicts with posts above and other info from the net. MS is providing a hell of a lot more product supply than Sony did with ps2.
