Basically I am unsure how much power I will need for my system. I plan to run with one 4850 X2 video card, 6 sticks of 2GB DDR3, an i7 920, 2 SATA hard drives, 1 DVD RW drive, and maybe a Blu-Ray reader and SS drive. I want to make sure I have plenty of headroom for overclocking. I did a power estimate at http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine and got a recommendation of 672W. These are two power supplies I am looking at:
OCZ StealthXStream OCZ700SXS 700W - $80 minus without $20 rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817341019
Output:
+3.3V@36A,
+5V@30A,
+12V1@18A,+12V2@18A,+12V3@18A, +12V4@18A,
-12V@0.8A,
+5VSB@3.0A
I am unsure if I should add up these four rails to 72A for +12V to compare to the Corsair PSU:
CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W - $140 without $20 rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817139009
Output:
+3.3V@30A,
+5V30A,
+12V@70A,
-12V@0.8A,
+5VSB@3A
If someone has a good recommendation for another PSU I would very much appreciate it!
Thank you for your help.
