-12V reading

I was using testing my old Antec True 550 and the -12V reading was 11.4V. Is that out of spec? Hard to believe that it is 9.5 years old. It's my oldest working power supply.

I just want to know if it's in specs. It may be, but 11.4V seams low. That's -5%. I was thinking that ± 3% would be in spec. Anyone?

The spec for the -12 V rail (and -5 V rail, if used) is actually +/- 10%. The positive rails require +/- 5%. You are well within the spec.

Also, as a general disclaimer: in order to have useful measurements you need to measure with a multimeter or similar (not the motherboard's onboard reporting available via software), and ideally measure under load.

I have a PSU tester that I use. I could break out my multimeter if necessary to verify the accuracy. I never use software to test my hardware. I'm a pc tech and had an issue that I've determined is motherboard related. My first thought was power supply, but nope. Not it. Just wondering since the reading was quite low. Thanks for the link. Bookmarked for future reference.
