I just installed it and Skyrim locked up when trying to load my saved game.

Did a basic driver roll back and now works.
I have a 7870 Myst Tahiti LE based card on a Z77/3570k system.

I think you can just delete the appropriate folder in ..\packages
...if it has one. I delete everything but CIM and CCC by and I do not have anything like that installed, so probably yes.

Can anyone tell me how they could possibly forget to do something so basic as update the version number on the Information page? Before you say "don't worry about it, it's no big deal," just think for a moment how little/basic QA it would take to verify something as simple as that. And we are trusting them writing drivers for our hardware?

usually that string of numbers is written when the project branches into a new version, it doesn't get "christened" with it like a ship when it's ready to go

so it's not a QA issue at all, rather it's the maintainer's oversight

when the project branches, they copy everything over and update the version strings... in theory, and QA wouldn't have anything to do with it ever

I don't seem to have the gaming evolved app on my computer. Maybe it's because I didn't do a clean install?

But would not the WHQL verification catch that?

It's happened before. WHQL would be primarily concerned with making sure the drivers don't make a PC unstable, and wouldn't be all that concerned of a simple value label was wrong somewhere.

No. That's just the way it is. It says it will install it, but it DOESN'T.
They use these 3 letter words like everyone knows what they mean,

good ol' App & ACP, want to install it or no?

but it turns out that either they don't get installed, or that Google itself is baffled as to WTF they're supposed to be (ACP)

In 13.11 9.5 beta, I choose Custom, then I get message "OK, but Custom installation does not install AMD Gaming Evolved App", so I choose Express, yet I still end up without it.

It's the craziest thing :ninja:

Anyone know how this does with Crysis? I fired it back up on the last beta driver, and performance is not the best. My 7970's are only doing about 70fps in the jungle, but getting odd gpu usage with card 1 only 78% while card 2 is at 99%.

Is yours showing 12.10 in the CCC? Can anyone confirm if I have the correct stuff installed please. Battlefield 4 is complaining that I have Catalyst 12.10 installed instead of the latest 13.9. I installed revision number 13.12. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows 8 - 64

Thanks. I have downloaded it and installed it twice thinking I was doing something wrong. I guess battlefield is going to nag me constantly until the next driver release.

OK, so they made a simple error and forgot to update the registry entry(s)

If it's that important to your games (and it shouldn't be), just do a registry search for catalyst_version, and change all entries to 13.12.

Then all games that stupidly rely on this, rather than proper coding, should stop nagging.

Working great for me in battlefield 4, 7970 x2, it helps that the latest patch fixed the horrible flickering, missing ground textures and low fps spikes.

Been stable so far.

Did a clean install, no gaming evolved ap for me. I remember specifically looking for it during the install but could not find the option to Deselect it.

Peace
