Question 1440P / 4K webcams?

I spotted this one, claims to be 1440P. Specs say auto-focus in product blurb, detailed specs say fixed focus, can manually-adjust.
Is it just a 1280x720 webcam with image-enhancement firmware? I can't tell.

it claims to be 1440p, which is about 4 million pixels.

larry if you want a 4k webcam buy a canon m200 and an elgato or atomos capture dongle. even a really good dedicated webcam is going to have huge depth of field, not as good focus tracking (not really needed because the depth of field is so huge), and will be short on detail compared to even a 1080p stream from a, say, m50. bigger sensors and lenses matter.

After reading a review of 1440P webcams, bought a pair at Amz. Turns out that they support
(according to the private-label version of AMCap.exe) MJPEG, and possibly H.264, but I can't get H.264 to work, and it could be a codec problem, and I don't feel like paying $0.99 USD to Microsoft for the HEVC codec pack for Win10 just to find out.

According to the person on the other end of the Skype call, my image has "ghost images". Which I verified with AMCap.

So, not really satisfied. Maybe they make them with USB3.0, somewhere?

Just get a Logitech C920 (not 920e, not 930).

I'm serious - we have one and for Skype, etc., and the image quality is just... nice. Especially in crappy indoor office lighting. Compared to every other USB video device in the house (a Zoom Q2n-4k, some not-cheap laptop webcams, and the cell phones' selfie-cams) the C920 is just better than all of them.

The microphone in it produces surprisingly good sound, too.

I got mine for like $40 back in the day. They're still made/sold; just gotta find a sale.
