I am unable to find a monitor switch (or matrix, which is what I really want) that will support 144 Hz monitors (with DVI-D dual link interface). Even very expensive DVI-D matrices from multiple vendors only support 60 Hz. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks!

P.S. According to the mfr, ATEN VM5404D, which otherwise looks like a great unit, has the following capabilities:
720x576@50HZ
1024x768@60HZ,
1280x720@50HZ,
1280x720@60HZ
1280x800@60HZ,
1280x1024@60HZ
1400x1050@60HZ
1600x900@60HZ,
1600x1200@60HZ
1920x1080@50HZ,
1920x1080@60HZ
1920x1200@60HZ

I checked a half-dozen other brands of video switch matrices and even KVMs, and all the ones I found say 60Hz.

DVI is just old tech now. Moving into the future high refresh rate (= high bandwidth requirements) will need new revisions of HDMI and DisplayPort

Maybe. I note that buying HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 cables is tricky. HMDI 2.0 manufacturers list their cables as "UHD 4K @60Hz, 16 Gbps". Support for LCD monitors that operate up to 240Hz or higher doesn't seem to have entirely filled the market. Maybe one day LCD refresh rate technology will eventually catch up with CRTs. I used to use CRTs that refreshed at 300Hz. Cables were no problem. Of course, the resolution wasn't what you can get today with LCD monitors.

In any case, I have quite a number of 144 Hz monitors (ASUS VQ248QE) which support 144Hz refresh only with the DVI-D dual link interface. I don't think I want to try using DVI-D to DisplayPort adapters - I can't imagine how many I would have to buy before finding one that actually works at 144 Hz. Besides, the DisplayPort switch matrix manufacturers I have found also don't say anything about 144 or 240Hz. Neither do the manufacturers of HDMI switch matrices.

I was hoping that there is one switch matrix a reader knows about that can handle the high refresh rate - with ANY interface technology would at least be a start.

Have you looked into what can be done with daisy chaining on Display Port? The new Polaris and Pascal cards support Display Port 1.3 which is very high bandwidth, should support a pretty robust daisy chain
