145w PSU Enough for Athlon XP 1800?

I installed an athlon xp 1800 on a k75sa mobo earlier but seem to be having many problems even after I have reformated.
The computer randomly resets itself or stalls at any given time. Sometimes when it doesnt even get past the Windows XP boot screen.
Is my 145w PSU not generating enough juice to run this bad boy? Thanks for any help.

Sounds pretty light... even Compaq's bare-bones AthlonXP/nForce220 business PC's use 220W PSU's. Is that in an Inwin V-series case by any chance? Those will take a full-sized ATX PSU as well, I could suggest this one as a good-quality one with a good price.

i just tried it on a spare 200w psu i had lying around and it still freezes right after win xp boots up
just did a clean format and installed winxp. temps are around 40c so i dont think heat is a problem.
do you guys think it is a psu problem?

Yeah. For what it's worth, I use a high-end 430W power supply for my 1700+ system. It rides a 1000VA line-interactive uninterruptible power supply too, so as you can imagine, it's pretty stable.

That PSU is far too small u need a 300 watt or higher PSU.

You probably need 350W on a generic PSU and 300W on an excellent brand name like Antec.

cobraXT. The reboot problem is because of the power supply. The freezing up is unrelated to the psu. When the computer reboots, it's because the system isn't getting a steady stream of power. I currently have an XP1800+ running on a 180watt power supply without problems. It's been up and running for 6 months without a single crash. Feel free to get a 400+ power supply but don't expect to be able to have a normal conversation withouth having to scream. I also use a UPS (not for the 180Watt computer though) and highly recommend them. Sams Club has a really good deal on one for only $50.. This is the one I use and it's great.

Yes, load regulation's nice and tight on the TruePowers too. I have over 20 TruePowers in my work fleet and my own 430 is no louder than the 330's are (which is to say, virtually silent).

Plus the K7S5A is picky when it comes to power supplies. I had a generic 300W and had some stability problems until I got a Sparkle 300W.

That 145W PSU could probably power my cold cathodes and MAYBE a fan or two

Seriously though, that board is notoriously picky about its PSU, or any component for that matter.

Get a nice 330W Antec or Enermax as the others have suggested.
