Its funny, even with many people waiving huge amounts of money, manufacturers simply refuse to make a reasonable gaming laptop. Obviously the masses only want 17" 20lb beasts with ultra low res screens. Or low quality cramped overheating 11" systems with low res screens. There is simply no market for a middle ground option...NOBODY wants a portable gaming laptop that doesn't overheat and has a nice screen.
Well except for me, you, and a ton of other people. But obviously the parts that fit in an 11-13" chassis cant possibly fit in a 14". And they cant possibly make a 14x9 or 16x9 screen either, let alone a 19x10.
If you want to compromise, Alienware has a 15.6" option that they skimped screen on so they can call it a 14". But its low quality, poorly made, and has a single loud fan and overheating issues. But your not actually supposed to use the CPU and GPU at the same time, that's improper use of a laptop or something. Hence the single fan.
I keep hoping that somebody somewhere will get a fracking clue. And you know what, it shouldn't cost more than about $1K for a quality kit either...you can get crappy 17" models with an i7 and DGPU for $800 everyday, an extra $200 should be able to give you a higher quality smaller chassis and screen.
