Apparently the woman selling these invested money in the company and they didn't pay. Through the Sherriff's office her investment company siezed assets including ~600 of these units. She is selling them on Ebay in dutch lots of five, or you can buy them direct from her. She is also selling them in boxes of eight for $1000. She will also accept company purchase orders. She has around 400 of them left.
Here is the catch... The company that makes them is pissed, they sell them for $399, you might find them on the web for $299, she is selling them for $150. They do not want to support units not sold through "authorized resellers".

I found out about these on a website dedicated to 802.11b stumbling. A number of folks had bought the units and were very pleased with them.
For those doubting Thomases out there, I told her that I really wanted to get one of these units overnighted to me so I could give it as a gift this weekend. Problem was I had cash in my pocket, not in my bank account. She went ahead and FedEx'ed the thing with only my verbal promise to send the money to her via a money order! Just my promise! She gave me a tracking number that checks out at FedEx.com so I should have the unit tommorrow. Will let you know how it looks. Note! I assume she does not want to do this often! YMMV
Good luck!
