Is anybody in SoCal having ANY luck getting those coupon copies to fly? The store in Cerritos, CA is being uptight (I don't blame them though).

No UPS, no TDKs on sale....what's the deal?

Anybody got problem with using the discount coupons towards the items with INSTANT SAVINGs?
Cause most Staples coupons states that it is NOT combinable with Instant savings items....

Did anyone actually get three seperate check for $10? I mailed in 3 rebate forms for a similiar deal, and I've only gotten one check so far.

Can't remember doing this with Staples or not but have with several suppliers. As a rule they accept only one rebate form per household so you have to send that one form in with the sales slip(s) for all three (or whatever number) items. In return you get one rebate check.

The back of the rebate slip says only 1 request per envelope, so I also made 3 different mails to send out. I'll send them out tomorrow.

The TDK's I've found around me (in Sunny SoCal) are all "Hecho en Mexico" anyway. Not worth it.

And yes, I had to jump through a few hoops to get them to take my (printed out jpg) "$20 off $100" coupon. I told them it was from an email but the Manager said I was supposed to bring in the entire email. I told him I had cut out the coupon because it had dotted lines on it and that I had deleted the original email. He finally relented and let me use it. YMMV!

I love SoCal...the beautiful smog, the genuine people, and natural breasts, and the courteous drivers that always wave you in. I mean, what's not to like?

I went to 2 different Staples in SoCal and neither have TDK's in stock. The TDKs are priced at $19.99 with no instant rebate or mail-in rebate. I went for the 100-pack Phillips ones instead. Bought 2 at $27.95 ($20 rebate each). Applied the $10 off $40 coupon so they are about $5/100 CDs. Not bad since they are 80min, rated 40X and are made in Taiwan (possible Taiyo). Will check to see what the manufacturer of these discs are.

Shhhhhhh! I don't want everybody in the US jumping on the first plane here

I actually live for the traffic though. As much as I hate it, I think I would miss it if the roads looked like they do in Montana or something. Who would you cut off and wave hello to with your middle finger?

Anyways, tried another 3 Staples and they all reject the coupon, even when using my calm hypnotic Jedi mind tricks voice

TYs are made in Japan. Your discs are possibly Riteks or CMCs, not TYs.

I decided to risk the BIG rebates and ordered 3 CDR's, Peachtree and the Modem -- Total Cost $173 after $40 coupon and tax - rebates total $190. Averaging the cost of my Cendyne CDRW down to about $8 for two Orders combined (First Order Sunday was for CDRW, Surge Speakers and Lamp - net after tax and rebate on that order was $25) Thanks for he heads up that the lower price is now on line. Now I may not go back to Sears forhte 200 32x Off brand Cd-R's on Thursday for free). I still have about 250 12x CD-R's I need to use up. Just thought I might want some faster ones.

Staples in Roswell/Sandy Springs, GA.

The instore printout shows the Philips in exact place whereas the online printout shows TDK's.
This is the point of confusion.

The TDK's rang up as $19.99. I showed web printout from Staples.com with $7 instant rebate.
They priced matched. Also used a printout of the $10 off $40 coupon.
I just stated, "I also have this coupon". The clerk actually cut out the coupon so it could be inserted into register.

So:
150 TDK CDR's (Made in Japan)
1 Super Glue
for under $4.00 w/ tax.

Deal suggestion for lazy people (like me ;-)

1. Go to "obise bill holder" to get Staples link for free shipping (Edit: not needed anymore; free shipping is automatic ;-)
2. Order 452651 (Price: $12.94 ) and 464548 (Price: $139.94 ea)
3. Don't forget to download rebates ($10 and $140)
4. Use the fact that my brother-in-law's birthday is 91/7/46 "you know where"
5. Submit the order.

My total came up to $133.02 (with the tax/free shipping).

Have fun!
