Found a new cloud storage app called*Copy, that starts you off with 10gb free, & once you confirm your email & install the pc client companion, it gives you another 5gb free. Much bigger file size uploads & doesn't expire(like dropbox). 15gb for free, can't beat that!It works on Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, & Mac
Use the referral code and get an additional 5gb free.

Clean link here.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually like the client for android better than the drop box client.

Are these guys reputable? Is the data secure?

I need to find a solid cloud storage solution (just for home use...pictures, videos, music, tax returns, etc.) and I'm willing to pay for it.

But damn is that market fluid....there are so many players and new ones (like this one) spring up overnight. I want something that's going to be around in five years.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to sort through the weeds? Tom's Hardware did a review in 2010...but that's the last review I can find from a reputable source (if Anandtech has ever done a review, I can't find it).

Thanks (sorry to threadjack)

I would be very interested in this answer as well. I've used dropbox so far and Google Drive has expanded their storage as well. My main cloud-based storage is dropbox but I also have items on Google Drive and my sky drive as well however they are not as easy to access and convenient as dropbox.

Does anyone have a link to Copy FAQ or customer forums?

I can't figure out how to use Copy. I emailed their support last week, but no response.

My dilema: I have three different user accounts on my computer. I want to back up the "My Photos" folder for all three. How?

I have never had any good luck with drop box, I stopped using dropbox a while back, cloud storage is the best.

What are you talking about?

Drobox IS cloud storage.

What problems did you have with? I've never had anything but good things to say about Dropbox's free storage.

I tried copy to share a file and no one could download. So I had to use P2P. The client is bull!

they really do have a decent client. It never ceases to blow my mind how badly most of these storage apps are. Most of them are too dumb to even put a download button next to your files.

I'm also using Jottacloud, which gives 17 gigs free up front. It also syncs my text messages automatically which I find really helpful. Here's the android link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jottacloud.android.client&hl=en

How much data are we talking about? Depending on how much media you are backing up, the free solutions from the likes of Copy, Dropbox or Google might cover it. But you are willing to pay, so perhaps you have more. I would say that in regards to picking a company that will still have cloud storage in five years, your best bets are (in descending order): Google Drive, Amazon Cloud Drive, and Dropbox. Copy is too new to answer that question properly.

But cloud storage should not be your only backup copy of data. You should also have your own local copies. And if you do, migrating from a cloud storage vendor that goes extinct shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Because Copy is the product of network security and backup giant Barracuda, your files are stored on servers we control and manage, not with a 3rd party like most cloud storage services.

They do have a big line of security and storage devices. So they may be around a while.. but who knows.

How big can each individual file be? I keep my backups in encrypted 7z files, each <4GB in size so that they can fit on a FAT32 USB drive. But most services like this don't allow files over 100MB or so.
