was about to buy the x800xl but i guess i'll just get this one, cheaper and x850 capabilities?

well i took a gamble w/this place. i'll let you guys know what i get.

i ordered from this place too but don't expect the lite retail version. seems the item # matches the newegg version which is oem. i'm more worried all we'll get is the card by itself.

Me too, hope it works out OK. I guess if it's a dud there will be several of us in the same boat.

BTW - Price was $203.63 shipped for me also as mentioned by Localan above.

One card has a 2 to the left of GTO... X800GTO2. Like in math a 2 to the top right of something means squared. The X800GTO2 (Squared version) is the one you want.[/quote]

No, your other left!

That's not the squared card.

What do you mean a squared card?

I know 2 means squared in mathmatics, but what does it mean to an ATI Graphics card?

:frown: Yep nVIDIA Makes some of the best TCCD ram chips. Last time I checked Western Digital was really giving Intel a run for their money in the CPU market. WD CPU's are teh 1337 h/\X0rZ CPU.

It means that the Sapphire X800GTO2 (Squared) has a R480 Core which is the Core found on the X850XTPE and can be modded/flashed/overclocked to that card, instantly saving $200-300.

I thought Maxtor made all my TCCD memory

Mr. Sherlock, I do know that Sapphire does not actually develop the gpus, but I think its something called common sense. Maybe you lost yours?

You clearly know what he meant and your sarcasm is uncalled for.

The X800GTO^2 cards have 16 pipes enabled. The X800GTO cards have only 12.

That or I'll buy it at this current price and it'll end up going back down shortly. Well, if I can just find a PCIe motherboard...

$10? Is $10 a deal breaker for you? $10 is not much and to me it is not worth a 3-4 month wait to save $10 measly dollars. (politly speaking) If $10 is a budget killer then maybe you should open a bank account and work a few extra hours per week to save some money to support this expensive hobby of pc video game playing. Or take up golf.

Eventually all of this stuff will fall to the monetary value of absolute zero. There is little point in waiting, buy what you can afford at the moment and be done with it.

For the regular GTO, it has to be flashed to get the 16 pipes and then overclocked. The GTO2 has the 16 pipes already enabled and would just need to be overclocked to reach X850XT speeds right?

Some GTO's can't be modded because some do not use the R480 GPU and some can't be unlocked to full 16 pipelines.

You will be getting $400 worth of video card for only $225ish, and these cards are supposed to be a limited edition (Sapphire GTO2). Most likely the price could go up more because the retailers know now that they can be modified and that there is high demand. So if you want to get one, get one now.
