I've done 6 seagate rebates within the last 4 months... I've gotten them all but 1 (it's currently in the mail, just got a notice last night). I'm happy with them.

I finally got my check issued today. They probably haven't mailed it yet. I submitted three months ago, and it took six calls to Parago, two emails to Seagate, and two calls to Seagate. Check the rebate tracking threads.

Patrick: that's what mine said on 10/20. It was changed to "invalid serial number" on 12/10. Back on 12/12, and back on 1/10.

There's fine print in white ink that says:

You won't get your rebate because we fscked up the information we gave to Parago and your reBAIT will have invalid written all over it.

Well. Would just like to add another success story. I've gotten all my seagate rebates and I think I've bought three hard drives total. Only mess up was they lost my UPC on one, so I called and told them I have a xerox I can send, and they said no problem, they'll just okay it on their end. Went pretty smoothly....

Mines been in 'valid and in final processing ' status for a month now, I guess they are holding out as much as possible on the 8-10 week crap.

Finally got my 3rd and last Seagate HD rebate check today. $50 for the 160 GB. Got 2 $40 rebate checks for the 120 and 200 GB drives late last week. Sent in the forms, etc. before September. I've done close to 50 rebates and this has been the worst experience.

I just got my rebate from this offer back at the end of august. There was a big backlog they said. I'm going to try & avoid them ever again.

Just to make things clear, seagate rebates aren't terrible. Just some of the rebate houses. Stay away from the El Paso center. If the rebate goes to Niagara Falls(like the seagate deal from compusa before), they are really quick. Under a month's time for me.

nice deal. i love my seagate drive. i also got my seagate rebate back in about a month, went nice and smooth. although i won't deny there are a lot of reports of problems with them as of late. so as with any rebate, there's a risk. thank op
