Good price. Seagate rebates come quicker.

I still haven't received any email or web confirmation from the labor day sale at Fry's even though i've received confirmation from my OCZ. How fast did you get your rebates?

Seagate = $3.2 per GB

WD = $2.5 per GB

Correction: Seagate = 160GB/$50 = 3.2 GB/$, WD = 250GB/$100 = 2.5 GB/$

3.2 > 2.5, you get more storage per dollar with the Seagate

Even if it was the other way around, there is no way I would ever buy another WD hard drive. I have had 6 80gig, 1 180gig, and 2 200 gig drives go bad in the past year. All with the same problem. They wont spin up anymore. (seperate systems between work and home). I am on a first name basis with WD RMA department.

I've given up on all drives except Seagate
If they started to go bad, I dont know what I'd do.
However, I do have a machine shop friend make me brackets that hold two drives about an inch apart, and an 80MM fan that blows air crosswise over the platter end of the drives simultaneously. They stay ice cold all the time. I then bolt the whole thing to the bottom of the case.

Another thing to watch out for is pushing so hard on the 12V molex that one may crystallize or impair the four solder joints on the PCB. Always rock it out or in easy.
