[adul]im angry at overclockers.com! rawwwrr!![/adul]

personally, i always run at 1024x768, but i think that if it was feasible to run at 1600x1200, it would be pretty damn sweet.

I have a UXGA screen on my laptop, so anything that will run at 1600x1200 does.

If the game supports it properly, then I would most definitely run at 1600x1200 if I could maintain playable frame rates.
Unfortunately many of the games I play tend to not support 1600x1200 and the proportions get totally out of wack.

Assuming fast enough framerates and a high enough refresh rate I'd go as high as possible. My actual limit on my current system is 1600 x 1200 and I find that works very well. Of course, that's not to say that I wouldn't want to go any higher.

Unless the game has done something silly like hard-coded positions of 2D objects then the resolution you are are running at is totally invisible to the game.

I do not know, as I have never had the ability to run games at 1600/1200, but it does sounds like quite the experience.

1152 x 864 for me!

Highest my monitor can do while keeping a 75Hz + Refresh Rate.

But if I could, with decent frame rate and 75Hz+ Refresh rate, then sure I'd do 1600x1200

Hell yes i would, and i damn sure can in just about every game. The only problem is text size gets too small and there needs to be some sort of font scheme that will upsize with resolution changes.

Heck, if I had a monitor that supported it and a video card that could handle it, I'd run at 4000x3000!

pfft, they're just mad they didn't get to test the card
They guy has an attitude problem IMO (I read his first anti radeon article)

Anyway, back to the topic, I run at 1600x1200 whenever possible, but that doesn't happen often with my Radeon64

But I agree with Wingznut, why wouldn't someone try to run at the highest possible res?

16x12? Naa. Now, 1024x768 with some sort of FSAA would be far nicer.

I run ALL of my games at 1600x1200. The 3D objects on screen will remain the same size so many people's points don't make any sense. 2D huds will likely get smaller but with a 19" monitor it should be fine. The exception is some RTSes like Armada 2 for which having a huge resoluton is like cheating It will scale the 3d objects intentionally so that you can see more on the screen at once. Gameplay is actually easier.

No question, I would play at 1600x1200 with all the details set to maximum if I could (get average frame rates of 70ish or better).

I run my games at the highest resolution that I can while still keeping all the details turned on high. There are very few games that I can't run at 1600x1200 maxed out. I personally don't like FSAA very much, but that's just me.
