1660 Ti and Triple Monitors

It's been a VERY long time since I've built a computer. Is running triple monitors smoothly possible on this graphics card (with reasonable settings/resolution)? I've never actually had a muiltiple monitor setup before so I don't even know how the plugs would go. Would I be buying multiple adapters for this kind of setup?

The main game I will play is iRacing (or most racing sims)

Is this triple-monitor for gaming? Or for desktop usage? I wouldn't think that it would be any problem for desktop usage, probably not even with 3x 4K UHD screens. (Although, might not be able to decode 3x 4K60P videos on all three outputs without dropping frames.)

For gaming, I wouldn't be so sure. The GTX 1660 ti is mostly a 1080P gaming card. Running 3x 1080P screens for Gaming, at reasonable settings, might be asking a bit too much from it.

I would go with an RTX 2070 at a minimum for 3x 1080P Gaming screens. Maybe higher.

Another thing to consider, if you just want a wider FOV, is going with an "Ultra--Wide" 1080P or 1440P LCD screen, LG makes a bunch of them. Those would work with a GTX 1660 ti, I think. (*With somewhat lower performance for the 1440P UW option.)

Edit: Remember, 3x 1080P gaming, isn't far off from the requirements for 4K UHD gaming, which is actually 4x 1080P resolution. So, the GTX 1660ti is not really considered a "4K Gaming" card. I would look at ones that are considered "4K Gaming" cards, if you wanted to run 3x 1080P screens. But keep in mind the Bezel issues too. That's one reason that I suggested the Ultra-Wide for gaming.

If you're a stock trader, or something, then yeah, a GTX 1660 ti should be find for 3x 1080P desktop screens though, with the occasional video-playback thrown in.

You mention reasonable settings so I'm assuming you want to game on it and the short answer would be: No.
You can get a 3 DP port card that will run your 3 monitors, though gaming at 5760x1080 (assuming 1080p monitors) wont happen unless you seriously lower in game settings to low/medium. if you want high res gaming then get a 2070/2080 and a single 4k monitor better than having to look at the bezels also.
Multi-monitor has been superseded by high resolution monitors in recent years, for gaming at least though multi-monitor is still very useful in productivity environments.
If you like the wide aspect ratio that a multi-monitor setup can provide you can buy ultrawide monitors and not have to deal with the hassle of powering and driving 3x seperate monitors. Otherwise I'd suggest a 28"+ 2560x1440/4k screen again assuming you want to game on it.

Updated original post. I plan on playing iRacing which people have said runs ok at reasonable resolutions on a 1660ti. I am really trying to avoid spending some serious coin on a GPU but it looks like I have no choice.

Well you just answered your own question, "reasonable resolutions" see my edit btw, ultrawide or higher res single screen might be the way though iRacing is a sim so may well benefit and look better on a multi-monitor setup.

Edit: it's also a 10 year old game so you might be ok with a modern mid-range GPU like the 1660 Ti even at high resolutions

Yeah, 3x 1080P, or 4K UHD (4x 1080P) gaming, is still more-or-less "serious coin", in today's market, at least, buying new.

Also, random note, I did hear that the new nVidia GPUs were prematurely dying/wearing out? Is that true?

There was an issue with the first (?) / early batches of RTX 2080 ti cards. Search "2080ti space invaders".
