Finally moved up to the nice UWGA+ LCD but noticed one issue.

I find the default text size a bit too small on 1680x1050 display on my Inspiron 6000 laptop. So, decided to increased the font size to 120 dpi. Noticed the increased in font size causes jpegs on websites to become blurry.

Anyone have a work around where I can keep the bigger font size w/o messing the jpegs?

I wish I knew about this problem before I bought. I may have stayed with 1280x800 display instead. Didn't realize I would encounter this problem.

Is there somekind tweak for this?

Thanks!!!

I actually tried 100 dpi and it's actually acceptable. Much more comfortable to look at then 96dpi

I did find some utilities that supposely adjust the different elements but they don't work well.

If you have a WUXGA screen, why in the world are you running it at 1680x1050, you should be running it at 1920x1200. THEN adjust the font if you cant stand it.
Personally, i like mine at 96dpi at 1920x1200...even without my glasses on.

Sorry, that was a typo. got confused with all the different resolutions. The native is 1680x1050 native.

Anyway, still playing around with this. I just can't deal with 96dpi. It's too small.

Tried cleartype and may just have to go with Firefox....if all else fails I'm returning this thing and get 1280x800 native. It's really to bad. I like the screen a lot.

Also, just notice the dim spots on the corner. I had just returned 1280x800 due to other issue and thought would be great to upgrade to high res. Boy...didn't expect all this. 1280x800 native ain't so bad after all.

Also, make sure you have Display, Appearance, Effects, and Clear Type checked.

This happened to me on a Latitude D410, it turns out the lame network admin configured it to use 120dpi before he gave it to me he also changed the theme and how folders are displayed, so nice of him.
