16Gb Ram P8P67Deluxe & Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B

Hi guys,

I'm running a I5 2500K in a Asus P8P67 Deluxe motherboard which is cooled by an Scythe Mugen 2 (rev B) cooler. I also installed 8 Gb 1333 (2*4) Kingston value ram in.
But, because of running multiple configurations in Virtual box, 8 Gb is not always enough. So I want to install 16 Gb but I wast told that 2 modules of 8Gb each is less stressfull than 4*4Gb.

So I ask you guys what might be the best solution?
Keep in mind the low clearance under the cpu cooler, a slight overclock to 4.3Ghz. Maybe other Ram modules then the Value Rams give me a better results.

It really does not matter. Way back in the day, having all four dimm slots filled could make it more difficult to overclock and would cause the memory to run in 2T vs 1T timings. However, the minor drawbacks have mostly disappeared and they were never bad enough to out weigh not having enough RAM in the first place.

The only benefit to getting 8gb dimms is that you have two free slots to upgrade later.

So, an extra set of 2*4gb Kingston Value Ram would be good?
