You can usually pickup a Toshiba or Pioneer 16 X DVD at local mom and pop computer store or online with shipping for less than 100 dollars. Both drives have good reputations. Just my 2 cents.
I dont think its worth it just get yourself a pioneer or toshiba.I work at best buy and really never see those things sell often but wont buy one myself.
that is a rip off...i saw a toshiba 16x drive at a mom and pop puter shop and it was under $90...and i saw a pioneer 16x for the same price... keep lookin, i'm sure there are cheaper ones
Digital Research? I've heard enough bad experiences with their CD drive from the Staples deal. If I were you, I would return it for refund (if you haven't sent in the rebate).
How does the speed of the dvd player matter all that much? I can see later on once games and software start coming on dvd's, but for movies, which they're only good for right now, what does it matter? Just curious
