500:1 contrast ratio, 80 degree left/right, 50 degree up, 70 degree down viewing angle. Brightness is 250 cd/m2 (very good). This monitor sounds like a winner. Not to mention I called the company and spoke to a guy named Jim who said if there were dead pixels, no problem, just send it in and they'll send out a new one.

I'm dropping by TigerDirect today after work with a CD-R full of videos to demo the LCD and make sure fast motion looks ok on it (for DVDs and gaming). I'll post my findings here in this thread.

This is a rebadged Cornea MP704, for those that are wondering. The Cornea is rated very well (see earlier thread or check Amazon.com).

Well, I'm using it right now.. pretty sweet! For some odd reason, at 1280x960, everything is fuzzy looking.. nasty. But 1280x1024 looks perfect. When I scroll through text, the text is nearly unreadable (even with smooth scroll on).. is this normal for LCDs? I tried Star Wars Jedi Academy.. when looking around w/ the mouse, I could see the screen repainting.

That does not sound right for a 20ms response time. Are you hooked up digitally with a new video cards?

I just got one for my parent's Christmas system after the positive comment, I hope I didn't make a mistake.

I'm on a 2000fp now from the Dell deals a few weeks back and notice no ghosting even on Elite Force II.

No, I'm using the traditional VGA out on a GeForce3. The LCD doesn't even support digital inputs.

It may have just been the game, I'm not sure. It's not ghosting at all.. it's hard for me to describe. But it's barely noticeable and I don't find it to be an issue really. I'm loving the new LCD.. it's totally awesome.

I'm going to get one for my dad, but I don't know if he'll like the 1280x1024 resolution (he's in his late 50s and has a tiny bit of a sight problem). The problem is, if you use other resolutions, the display looks like CRAP. I'm not exaggerating either.. complete crap. I heard that this is a downfall of LCDs, that they only look good in their native resolution. Is this true? Any way around this??

"(he's in his late 50s and has a tiny bit of a sight problem). "

no DVI? bleh.

as for the small text, try Display Properties > Settings > Advanced and up the Font Size to 150%, or 160% -175%

although 175% makes it feel like 1024x768

Well it arrived today. The "no DVI" does not appear to be a big deal; comparing the screen to my new Dell 2000FP reveals not much difference, really other than the obvious one of size. I do have 2 or 3 dead "sub pixels". They are not particularly noticeable unless you run the test and put your eyeballs right up to the screen and just look really hard for them. My 20" 2000FP has none, of course it was over twice the price, more than 2.5x if you count the rebate. This monter also FEELS much cheaper too, as I shouldn't be surprised, as far as case and stand goes. I have not tried a FPS on it yet.

One more comment - the stand folds into a nice little handle for packing & removing from carton. This would be a great little monitor to travel around with for a LAN party and a SFF PC - very light, great picture, and a little handle, and cheap. Are there durable cases made for these for transport in such situations? And I don't mean as in checked luggage :-]

I'll finish with when I first got it, and so NO DVI, and the cheapo cheapo plastic, compared to my new 2000FP, I thought 'what a piece of crap' but now that I've hooked it up and used it, I'm quite pleased.

It probably doesn't compare to the Dell LCD..but I don't really know.

The rebate terms: you must have bought the monitor between 9/7 and 10/7. The rebate materials must be postmarked within 15 days of the receipt date, and no later than 10/22.
