So wait... these have been nearly impossible to find in stock, and when you do, they're usually $80-100 over MSRP (Newegg being one of the worst). All of a sudden, Newegg has them in stock, and has enough to run a coupon code bringing the price down to a very reasonable level?

I see the price is quite a bit lower on several other sites as well, but when did this all happen? Last I knew, I could hardly find a 160GB G2 for under $500.

they ran out of people willing to buy them at hundreds of dollars over MSRP?

I bought one of these drives on Wednesday and it arrived yesterday. (Live in CA)

I noticed it was shipped from their "RMA Warehouse" in a plain cardboard box with a giant serial sticker on the outside of it. The drive inside was sealed, but I'm not sure it was a return drive or not, since the whole thing really looked shoddy to be honest.

Just out of curiosity, anyone who ordered OEM drives from NEWEGG have the same packaging / experience? I installed Windows 7 and ran HD Tune and everything appears to be on the up and up... just the whole thing leaves a strange feeling in my mouth. (Maybe because I coughed up so much for it? )

Both of my Intel SSDs were OEM and came in a small, nondescript cardboard box. That's just how the OEMs come. Although, I don't think mine came from the RMA warehouse, not sure if that means anything or not.

LOL, well just install the Intel SSD Toolbox software and run the basic tests, and if there are no SMART errors, and the write sizes, and power time are low, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Trying to think of a way I can justify it!! Nah... Just spent $240 on my 80Gb last month. :-(

It didn't COME from the RMA Warehouse; that is just to help with returns. Or so I've been told...

It looks like the OEM drives are sold out at at newegg and the code doesn't apply to the retail version.

Anyone want to sell me the extra (unopened) one they bought?

The promo code was from their "social media Black Friday preview" on Facebook and Twitter last week. From what I saw, the deal for the 160 GB drive wasn't a part of the normal BF sales, just the 80 GB drive, and you didn't need a promo code for it. Just gotta get one before the go OOS (which they were last I checked).

I asked that question a few days ago, only my choice was raid wd6400aaks vs an ssd.

I bought an x25m g2 on BF after numerous recommendations.
