QFT...talking rotational mass to some dude looking fo' dubs will make his head assplode.

The scary part is the additional stopping distances those 26"+ wheels that with tires probably weigh 2x as much than their dates each.

For most cars it's not going to matter, but a well-tuned car going from 16" wheels at 30-35lbs each to a light weight 18" at 17lbs makes a big difference in turn in and handling.

That's not true at all. Going with smaller rear wheels will likely change the handling dynamics of the car and could actually create oversteer because you have less grip available at the rear of the car.

And yes, it is a 2006 Lexus IS250. We bought it new in May of 2006.

That looks really nice!

19" imo look a lot better. I didn't want to look at a car without them...they drive fine on the road and on the track for me.

I could take out the rear and passenger seats to save some weight...this dude did that in his 130!

lol, a friend of mines pissed off a guy in an IS-F a few months back. We were stopped at a red light and my friend asks him "where did you get that bodykit for your Camry..?"

LOL - guy got offended and just said it's not a Camry. hahahaha

Wow, your friend is pretty retarded. The Lexus ES is a Camry, the IS looks nothing like a Camry.

Next time pull up to an Audi R8 and ask him where he got the VW GTI body kit. :ninja: If you get your tires slashed, no one will feel bad. :sneaky:

LOL, we know. It's just that Lexus IS owners go insane when you "mistake" their cars for a Camry. Hahaha.

Only go with 19s if you're going to drop it. 19s with no drop is going to look like a 4x4.

They are Dunlop SP Sport Maxx A (Maximum performance summer tires). They list at almost $1000 for a set of 4 tires from tirerack.com.

We are on our third set with almost 65k miles on the car and the front tires are looking pretty worn again.

lol on a 'wife's lexus'.

dude do you just buy things because of cool factor or do you plan out your purchases for what you really need?

Its an IS250 dude, its like a few k more than a V6 accord, lol. IIRC his wife is a realtor, in that line of work you need a semi flashy car to carry clients around in.

I would have gone with a 328 to be honest. I mean, the V6 in the IS250 is so sad.:'''''(

I don't think you seem to be following what they are saying.

My mother doesn't care one bit about the engine in her ES300, it's all about the comfort.

You don't need maximum performance SUMMER tires dude for that purpose and they are probably transmitting additional harshness to the CUSTOMERS.

Thats Lexus' problem not Jules. They replace the tires as per the service plan and thats what they choose, shrug.

I do agree with you that its absurd that family passenger cars come stock with ultra performance summer rubber though. People don't realize those tires are 200 a pop usually.

I'm sure Lexus gets a good deal on those tires too...probably nowhere near what we pay retail for them.
