Seems strange to me, these are abviously the older genreation IBM 10K's, the 36LZX being the current one, and something like the 73LZX being the one just announced and not out yet.

Why doesn't it say made by IBM, and the fact that it says new but only a 1 yr warrantly is very strange. All IBM SCSI HD's carry a 5yr warranty be it OEM or Retail.

You can find 80pin to 68pin converters anywhere. Make sure they do LVD so that you get the full 80mb/sec. I bought mine here

You'd need the SCSA-3720L adaptor which goes for $27.95. I am running 2 Fujitsu 10k scsi drives in my machine with these adaptors and they work great. I've previously purchased an adaptor from Fry's Electronics. It did not mention support for LVD, so when I used it, I only got 40mb/sec. Also, the connection was pretty loose. I'd go for this adaptor here.

I got my Atlas 10K II a while ago (damn! no rebate for me!) and its a dream. It performs flawlessly, and DAMN games start fast. Its a lot of fun ripping CD's to the hard drive and then running them from there. It makes load times blazing fast when a game (no matter the install size) seeks to the CD-ROM for loading.

I found that one a couple days ago. I never bought it while I remember something. Does the "SCA" (Single Channel A?) mean it can only be the master drive and not set as say drive 8?

hey canadian, how hot/loud do these drives(atlas) actually get, i read a review on tomshardware that they get very hot/loud and then another one somewhere else that they are not that loud at all(no mention of heat tho) i ordered 2 of them and now im a little curious.
