If you look at all the specs(if they're correct), it all points towards a 8 bit panel. The wide viewing angles and the 16.7million colors are what good panels are made of

Side question, when you have a number do you use "a" or "an"?

Depends how it's spelled. 8(eight) starts with a vowel. Use "an". 2(two) starts with a consonant. Use "a."

16.7 million colors means it 's 8 bits, 16.2 million colours means it 6 bits. Some manufaturers cheat and claim that their 6 bit panels display 16.7 millions instead of the Dithered 16.2.

Dang, this is a very nice deal. I spent $320 in my Ultrasharp 1905FP, this makes that look ice cold.

I notice that one of the comments on Newegg's site stated that this was fuzzy if hooked up to the VGA port. I rather doubt that.
He must have used an out-of-spec setting for that to have happened.
Think of anything else "Fuji" that you have...is it not top drawer?

Edited to say...
This may not have anything to do with Fuji Heavy Industries. It is a Min Maw Precision Industry Corp. product.

This is not the same 'Fuji' as your used to, its another manufacturer called 'Fuji Plus'.

I also would like to know for certain if its a 6 or 8 bit panel. If its 8 I'll grab one right away, but I have no interest in 6 bit panels.

Ok, please explain how this is a nice deal? I mean, hey the latest Kia Rio 4 door is only $9999, so it is a much better deal than the Honda 4 door I got for $13000.. And, I have not even driven a Kia 4 door so it must be a great deal.

Unfortunately I cannot find any comprehensive review on this monitor nor can I find one to look at in person. The NewEgg reviews are not very useful either, because not all of them are shown. One guy over at the magnificent FW got his yesterday and said the color stinks, with a blue tint that cannot be adjusted out, and the viewing angle is very narrow.. Still, maybe it is a good monitor, but nobody knows.

The differences among LCDs vary so much I cannot trust buying one blindly unless I had a very cheap option of returning it.. Plus the dead pixel policy is awful.

I ordered it Saturday and got FREE shipping on it. There are plenty of posters who bought it on the {H} forums, so based on that and the great price, I jumped on it. I saw on Sunday that the free shipping was off so Saturday was a better deal indeed. As mentioned, FujiPlus is NOT Fuji, but as long as I get a rebate, I'm happy with the deal. There are plenty of offbrand LCDs that are priced competitively now (Rosewill, BenQ) so don't let the name scare you off until you've read some independent reviews (not Newegg comments, obviously) on other sites.

Edit: Mine arrives tomorrow so I can offer a limited opinion (its my first LCD, I'm gonna be happy regardless!!)

this confuses me also. the hyundai L90d+ also has 16.7 million colors listed on newegg and hyundai's website but the consensus is that it is a 6-bit with dithering to approximate the 16.7 million colors. i think it is a given that any 8ms or faster panel is 6-bit no matter whether it is 16.2 or 16.7.

OK, so what utilities can I use to check this LCD out ??? I opened Wordpad and cannot see any dead pixels but there is no software or driver with it to put it thru its paces.

I really like the look of it, as it matches my rig which is black and silver .... color is extremely vibrant, as I have already set it to a warmer range, but thats indicative of an LCD compared to a CRT.

Well, here's a few at least:
