I'm in the market for a new monitor, this 15" just aint cutting it. Recommendations on recent buys? Bang for buck would be nice but not necessary:beer:
Thanks in advance.

CRT or LCD? CRT look at viewsonics flatscreens at bestbuy they are great for the money imo anyways. LCD wise check dell monitors, the very best 19" LCD is supposed to be teh Samsung 192T though.

i use a viewsonic p95f at work, it is one of the best CRT's i have seen on the consumer level, especially gaming or watching a DVD in ultrabright!

p95+ can look a little fuzzy at real high refresh rates, you might wanna consider the non plus if that's an issue for you, but it's an excellent monitor for the money. it's high brightness mode is great for games

I recommend Sony Trinitron G420S
I own both the viewsonic and it. Difference is night and day if your willing to pay extra for quality not quantity.

Yeh, go for the sony... think about it, the display is pretty much all of the output of the computer, and you'll be able to use the same monitor when you next upgrade your PC. A decent monitor with a nice high refresh rate will do your eyes a lot of good. I found the quality of my gaming improved significantly once I upgraded from a crappy 15" Hitachi to a Sweeeet Sony 19 incher. Furthermore, Sony just plain rock and you should give them lots of money.

I love my Sony. It is a G400 from Sams Club for about $300. Crisp, clear, clean. Almost sounds like a beer commercial...LOL...Sony makes great CRT monitors. GO SONY!

recently moved from an old 19" Sony to a samsung 191T, must admit if it wasn't for the space issue and the shear weight of the damn thing I would certainly have considered a new 19" or even larger CRT from Sony.

Best bet is to try and see them in action, it really makes it so much easier when you can see your potential buys standing next to each other.

Dunno where to go in the states to see this though

Sony's CRT's kick-ass (and from what I've seen, are very reliable). I've never seen a better CRT than my 21" G500 (I think that's what it is). My only complaint is with CRTs in general...I'm tired of being irradiated by them

Definitely go for a Sony. I can't say enough good things about the Sonys. The only thing that beats a Sony in image quality are good DVI flat panels. Nothing else comes close.
