It only took 2 calls to get a CSR that would apply the $50 off coupon.

Some guy named Cord was a no go - but Christine was very helpful although a little slow.

Knock off the $50 Samsung rebate and I am out $136.16 plus a 34-cent stamp.

This will go with the system for which I am accumulating parts to build for younger daughter for Xmas...

To get the pricematch: call 1-800-3STAPLES (leave the S off for savings ) and tell them you'd like to purchase this monitor over the phone, but you found an online store selling the monitor for a cheaper price. Tell them www.emscomputing.com where it's $191.00 with 40.99 in shipping (still cheaper than Staples) and they'll call you back after verifying the cost and the shipping cost from the website.

To get the $50 off $200 coupon: do a search online for the coupon and you should be able to find it (I won't supply a link as that's frowned upon in this forum) just tell the CSR that you have a coupon after they call you back with the pricematch. If they don't want to do both the PM and coupon, just hangup and call back in a little while to get somebody else and start the process over again.

It's that easy, and yes, it DOES WORK. I just got one for a friend who's monitor just died and I got one for myself, both for around $137 shipped (shipping was free with the $50 off $200 coupon ).

That was a deal that was too good to pass up! Thanks guys!!

Sure. First off, welcome to Anandtech.

Go to your profile and enable Private Messaging (PM) so I can send you the link for the coupon code.

Second, the rebate is linked in the first message in the thread. You will need to print it and fill it out. When the monitor arrives, cut out the UPC symbol from the box, include the packing slip from Staples and send them all off to the indicated address. It normally takes 6-8+ weeks for the money to come. Make sure you photocopy everything before sending them off. This comes in very handy when you need to call them and remind them to send the money.

The coupon is a code that stores release to certain customers to allow them to get a better deal. There are lots of variations of coupon codes. The one in this case is an XXXX off YYYY purchase. Essentially, the store (Staples in this case) will give you XXXX dollars off before tax of a purchase of at least YYYY dollars. There are many sites where you can find these codes, but you should not post the links directly here.

Lastly is the price match. Staples has a policy that says they will be an advertised price by 10% of the difference for the exact same product. So lets say Staples is selling a product for $200 and you find it elsewhere for $100, then Staples will sell it to you for $90. 100 - ((200 - 100) * 1.1). The thing that makes price matches more difficult is that Staples requires it to be an exact product match. The other thing is shipping Staples includes shipping, most other vendors do not.

Combining all 3 together makes for some very hot deals. Hope this helps.

Just got off the phone with Staples. the CSR that was helping me was James.
The PMing site i used was Techonweb.com, thanks to PunkBitch.
the price was $231($190+$41shipping).
somehow the 110% PM turned out to be 101%.
so my total was
$231 - 1%off = 227.5
$227.5 - $50 off coupon = $177.5
$177.5 * 0.0775(tax)= $190.77

$190.77 before rebate....

Wow. The deal works. With tax 191.66 delivered. Now I have to wait for the rebate. Just remember to call Staples direct at 1800-3-STAPLE. They will verify. I used Techonweb.com (190.00 + 41 Shipping). The best part is I was told 1 week for delivery. Well I ordered on the 5th and the monitor was here on the 6th with UPS. Could Superman have done better.

I have received my today, Model Number AQ19JSBL the same as on rebate.
They come in two flavors:AQ19JSBL and PG19JSBL as far as I know
one has Control hidden under cover and another one on the front
pannel. As far as price, the first one usually more expensive then another.
As far as CompUSA they have both. The second listed with the chiper price,
I do not see the picture, since it was delivered without me being at home and
without tracking info(was told that it would be here next week) Got it through 1800STAPLES.

Which model you received?

I called to Samsung and was talled that AQ19JSBL is a newer madel than PG19JSBL .
The AQ model has controlls on the monitor and PG one has them hidden. AQ19JSBL model look like

LOL, I just got talked down to by a "Don" who says that the coupon code renders the pricematch invalid or at least makes the total price out of pricematchable range. "Please review our policy a little better"... it's not my life, just what you advertise. www.techonweb.com PM was no problem though. They must be insane to think that someone would actually take them up on a 110% of the difference pricematch in a state which charges taxes and just leave it at that.... that 10% gets eaten up like nothing.

I purchased a

Then I added a Axiz group 2-1 duffle bag for 39.99-39.99 coupon

I also added a Visioneer 5300 Flatbed scanner for 35-10 coupon

Total = 225+4.5% tax=235... not bad. Also I picked up the E90FB because I wanted a black monitor

One thing should be said about the 955DF is that there seems to be 2 different versions of it. The one currently being reviewed is the newer model. The older model does not have the highlight function (which in most cases will be no big loss) and the buttons are slightly different. The older 955DF has a kind of extending and retracting ?tongue? to house the buttons. The buttons on the newer version have a cheaper look and feel to it when compared to the older one. All in all they have the same specifications and are very much the exact same monitor.
