Just search for p910 at www.cdw.com.

0.24mm dp. Diamondtron
Max res is 1920x..... at 75hz I beleive.

$219 + $20 shipping.

I just ordered one. For me the decision cam down to whether buying a 15" LCD for $350 or a 19" CRT true flat.
However, with the 15" lcd limited at 1024x768, I don't think theres any way I can comfortably program in linux.

Picked this up about 3 months ago and using it now
One of the best 19" monitor's... comparable to Sony Trinitrons at a fraction of the cost.

Hey, what about your Dell P991?

I've picked up two of these in the past six weeks. Great monitor, at least as good as the Mistsubishi I paid almost $600 for awhile back!

The P991 that I bought ended up having the typical P991 problem: bluish tint at lower left. Brownish tint at lower right. Just do a google usenet search on "P991 tint". Some people had the same problem with 4 straight P991s; and they ordered from Dell. The guy (he works for a computer recycling place) took it back.

This is a HOT deal.

Assuming this is a simple model improvement to the P900 Monitor, I can certainly vouch for this product line. I picked up a P900 about a year ago from CDW and I've found its one of the best purchases for my computer that I've ever made. The 1600x1200 resolution is perfectly comfortable on my monitor, at 85 Hz. Even though the monitor is only a 19" it seems like its much bigger. Highly recommended.

Bottom Line: This monitor series is great, especially in the $200~$300 range, the screen quality, color, and clarity is about as good as it gets

Damn you!!! I was actually looking for a cheap 17" monitor for an "el cheapo" computer I am currently building but now I ordered this one. I will use the P910 for my main rig then and the Samsung 955DF for the cheap one.

Here's how I see it. LCDs, although are great for staring at a long time isn't suited for programming where you may 4 shells on the screen at the same time. A good crt like this even at 1600x1200 will still have clear text for multilpe windows. BTW, this monitor has a good 3 year warranty. I think they send the replcement 1st. That probably means the'll include a paid return label too.

i got this deal like 2 months ago, the monitor is excellent. more adjustments than you can shake a stick at. i moved my p991 over to the secondary system and use the compaq for primary. 1600x1200 no problem (though i wish i could get 1400x1050 res into the nvidia drivers... :disgust: )

No, I am not posting an Ebay deal. This is the 19" monitor I have. It's from KDS and is very crisp. I don't have experience with this Compaq, but at $230 it is a helluva good price.

I usually use Ebay to judge prices on items no longer manufactured. You get a good grasp on the 'value' of the product.
I'd like a second monitor and was going to get this Compaq, but I think I will opt for the another monitor identical to what I already own.

The P900 uses the Sony FD Trinitron tube
The P910 uses the Diamondtron NF tube from Mitsubishi

completely different monitors, but I'd expect this P910 to be just as good as the P900.

The KDS monitor isn't in the same class at all. This is far better and has a three year warranty.

Also eBay link aren't allowed here.

hey.. did anyone notice when you search it comes up as $219 then in clearance it comes up as $180? I ordered the $180 one, only difference I see length before the ship date, which is fine by me.

Thinking about getting this monitor as well... However, of all the display Compaq monitors I've seen at B&M stores, the text is incredibly fuzzy (looks as though it has anti-aliased text) as compared to the Sony/NEC/Mitsubushi tubes.

For those of you with this monitor, any report of the text being a bit on the fuzzy side? If so, what video card are you using?

Thanks.

Where do you see that? Clearance... Where? heh

yeah it comes up as 180 in clearance. i called sales and they said that they are b-stock monitors. according to them, b-stock arent refurbs or used ones, just simply ones that were shipped backed or to wrong addresses and couldnt be sold as new again. she also said that even though they were showing up in the search, they didnt have any in stock.

What about a warranty? Is it the same as a brand new monitor?

ive checked mine and it said no order found. i ordered another one and again order status shows NOTHING. btw ive emailed them twice to no reply and called them once with a rep who wasnt rude but wasnt exactly the nicest customer rep ive ever talked to.

ive had to deal alot with amazon and voicestream/tzone lately, and their suppport if by farrrrrr better than cdw. but cdw is a smaller company...and dont know hif anybody cares about me whining.

Eh - it's not Monday yet. No need to whine unless they don't answer customer inquiries on a business day.
