MY SYSTEM
Amd 64bit 3200 Winchester on stock - about 1yr old
Asus A8N E - about 1 yr old
1gb X 2 DDR 400 Transcend Hynix D43 chips - brand new
Creative Sound Blaster Live 24bit - about 1 yr old
Gecube Radeon 1900XTX - brand new
Seagate 160GB SATA NCQ - about 1 yr old
Antec SP500 - brand new
Cabinet with light and temp display - about 1 yr old
1 DVD RW
1 DVD ROM
1 FLOPPY

In my country, Antec is the best brand, other top brands are coolermaster and skyhawk( may be not that great)

http://www.antec.com/specs/SP500_spe.html

My card is usually idle, sub 70C, but under load it may be 80C or higher, the fan is at default speeds.
CPU and mobo temps are about 50C

Are you blind or death? Just asking. Cause I posted the same thing like 3 times and you still ignore me (or it, whatever ). It could hold "the key" to getting your rig working right.

So, just read your PM's. I sent it to ya. Try the Warcats for the hell of it. And make sure that 6-pin PCIe cable is plugged in.

No, I think that you should do what I suggested first. HD wouldn't be the problem if everything is already loaded into ram.

Install the drivers like I said and check that 6-pin PCIe connector, you don't even have to turn off the computer for that!!!!!

how to check the 6pin connector without switching the 6 pin connector.
If you are talking of a small connector and that is coonected with one side of the card and is smal in size, that is connected.

Thing on bottom right of picture is the 6-pin connector (the card should most likely be upside down in your case, but it's in the same place, you get the idea, right?)

If thats connected your fine, and then I suggest trying that driver install I suggested in PM.

I think there's only one thing left to do in this situation: Get some crystals and make your card cold with solution.

He's also probably one of those types that goes straight for the overclock after installation, fries the card and then RMAs it because it's "faulty".

LMAO!

Do nForce boards still have the issue where the Nvidia IDE driver screws everything up, and needs to be uninstalled and have the generic MS driver used?

Give up, live with it, see that corner over there? Yea just go sit in that and have a good think. If the thought to post some more comes into your mind, hit yourself. Keep doing that and itll all be fine

Give the guy another chance. i get the feeling English is not his first language. That's no excuse for some of the actions and comments but at least the guy seems to be trying now instead of complaining.

Akshayt, do you have a hardware monitoring program such as Speedfan installed? Could you post what your +12v voltage is currently reading as?

Also, your power supply may be insufficient for that system. To make matters worse, you are running an Asus A8N series motherboard, which may have compatability issues with certain newer Antec power supplies.

Try using a different driverset as the previous posters have mentioned. If that doesn't work, then try a windows re-install. If that still does not work, than you will likely to to upgrade to a beefier power supply. I would not suggest an Antec with that board, if you can get an Enermax, Fortron, or other quality power supply that would be preferrable.

I reinstalled windows twice yesterday.

MY power supply is antec sp500 with >30A on +12va line, it is more than enough for my system if you see my rig in the sig, other than antec I would have had to go with skyhawk or cooler master, the ones available in my country, antec is much better.

I have tired the same FEAR on a friends comp, more or less same but 3200 venice with onboard sound, 7600GT instead
near perfect on 1024*768 MAX no soft shadows no aa and maybe no af

so no prob with version , my stutters a bit even at 800*600 low

tried Timshift demo

12X10 MAX

2006-06-17 12:48:51 - TimeShift_Demo
Frames: 3430 - Time: 53243ms - Avg: 64.421 - Min: 32 - Max: 108
lot of stuttering

10X7 MAX
Frames: 3450 - Time: 51659ms - Avg: 66.784 - Min: 2 - Max: 106
still too much stuttering

Auto detect at 10X7, lower than max
Frames: 3763 - Time: 52884ms - Avg: 71.155 - Min: 51 - Max: 107
much less stuttering

800*600 equivalent of low
Frames: 4650 - Time: 62349ms - Avg: 74.580 - Min: 41 - Max: 118
plenty of stuttering still

all benchies weren't exactly at the same place, but a lot were similar, the results can be +-5-10 fps accurate

in each case, even the 800*600 there is a lot of stuttering, my 6600GT was doing better
it can't be a cpu issue for my cpu isn't that crap.

The main problem is stuttering, are my hd tach scores normal?

It's already been said, your hard drive is not going to be the issue and cause stuttering. Have you memtested your memory?

What nvidia motherboard chipset drivers did you install? Only the shipset drivers and not IDE, soundcard or active armor?

Based on the fact that everything was fine w/ your 6600GT, more than likely it's your power supply. When playing a game, it's going to be pushed the hardest out of all of your components at those resolutions.

And DON'T BLAME ANYONE HERE except yourself. Anybody else here would have figured it out by now.

yes chepset drivers, not IDE, creative sound card, with 6600GT I had a differnent power supply, this one is newer and much better, Antec SP500

Quake 4 demo
1280*1024 High 4x AA HQ AF, Balanced drivers
game runs ok, little image tearing, no major stuttering, playable and fine
2006-06-17 13:23:53 - Quake4
Frames: 10062 - Time: 168938ms - Avg: 59.560 - Min: 44 - Max: 63

no, you wouldn't have figured out, jsut tell me what you would have done so that I can do the same.

I have tested hd tach
please have a look at my scores and tell me whether they are fine or not.
