i dont know about askhyat, but i've had two 1900xt's, and i've never had that problem, if i've ever had stuttering, it was because i did have the settings too high, and it was using a page file. and of course he's not listening to any advice.....this has been seen before.

QFT

I had a long conversation with him on MSN(I guess I must be an old softy), and from what I have read here it seems that he's completely ignored any advice that I have given him.

So he's on his own as far as I'm concerned.

I have more or less followed all your advice or most of it. Some things are still to be done and will be done soon.

Using onboard audio
Trying out the 6600GT
Trying triple buffering
Using the right page file

Anything else you guys want done?

Please buy a console. Your problem isn't that hard to fix. Swapping out a video card takes 5 minutes, yet you've said you've been trying for a week. All you do is keeping swapping parts until you find the problem. You ignore advice and probably enjoy wasting our time. Please sell your PC and buy a console so the rest of us can help people who actually listen.

I am sorry, akshayt, but you better look for a refund on that card. I've never seen a computer component which has had as much problems as you are having, especially ATi's last flagship product. Where'd you get this card? they really didn't deserve to sell it...

Or, at least, get a console,. and enjoy mostly problem-free gaming.

I suspect that this might be a case of the good ole I D 10 T error....the problem seems to be between his keyboard and the back of his chair.

If he was working for me, he would have been fired a long time ago....I expect a PC to be repaired in a matter of hours...maybe a day or two if it's a major blow up provided replacement parts are in stock).

I don't have all those games but here is what I do have:

FEAR runs fine
NFS Underground 2 runs fine
GTA:SA runs fine
COD2 runs fine
Far Cry runs fine
.......

Basically EVERYTHING I have runs fine.

I have an idea akshayt, BUY ALL BRAND NEW PARTS. If it still has trouble I call BS

I have nearly all of the games that Akshayt listed and I get good results using an Asus 6800GT.

The only one I have any real issues with is NFS:MW, but even then it really playable even at 1024x768, I just get a tiny Stutter even 5 seconds or so...but it seem to dissappear once I've completed a lap and I'm on my second lap around.

Possibly a caching issue or a limitation because I only have 1GB DDR400.

i had the same studders though not as bad as akshayt is describing with NFS:MW...disabling shadows helped a lot with that issue, it's needless performance hit. i play with all details set to high @12x10

Do you have fast writes turned on in the BIOS, this is known to cause choppy-ness!

Nix that, he said he tried the card in a friends computer and it ran perfectly. After watching his video, I don't really see any problem to spek of. The stutter is very minimal, and definitely won't affect gameplay. He tried another card and still had problems. All he needs to do is go to tweakguides and get his system dialed, but for some reason he just flat out refuses to do it.

Thread title should be changed from "1900XTX not performing..." to "akshayt not performing..."

Besides, why would he say it's the X1900XTX's fault if it works completely fine in another rig?
