Not true. I distinctly remember telling you to go to
www.tweakguides.com and to follow the guide to a T, but you didn't and you still have your problem. I agree with BFG, you don't have your machine configured properly, or there is some setting that is borked. If not then I suspect your motherboard, or HDD thrashing. I highly doubt it's your PSU because that almost always results in game crashes/freezes and/or random system reboots. You say it's not the soundcard because you tried without it, but did you also remove the drivers? One more thing, what kind of anti-virus software are you running, or are you running any at all?
I'll say it again, go to tweakguides and follow it exactly. Even if you don't fix the problem, you will gain a great deal of knowledge about your system, and you'll know with almost absolute certainty that the problem lies in hardware, no the O/S, drivers or other software.
