I'm not sure why you are saying that, K8s show little to no performance gain in non-synthetic applications from bumping up the memory bandwith. Even tightening up timings has pretty minimal effects. He is definately not bandwith starved on a single-core 939 setup.

It's obvious his rig is misconfigured but he's too stubborn to follow what people actually tell him which is why we have a third version of this monstrosity

Akshayt, sell your PC and get a console. That'll spare us a fourth incarnation of Revenge of the Radeon (tm).

I think what needs to happen is for all of us to meet over at akshayt's place with our volt meters, spare PSU's, ram sticks, memtest86 diskettes, etc. and pull an all nighter to get this thing figured out. I can only imagine the carnage. akshayt- you have to supply the beer and brats. (OK so now you know I'm from Wisconsin).

Not true. I distinctly remember telling you to go to www.tweakguides.com and to follow the guide to a T, but you didn't and you still have your problem. I agree with BFG, you don't have your machine configured properly, or there is some setting that is borked. If not then I suspect your motherboard, or HDD thrashing. I highly doubt it's your PSU because that almost always results in game crashes/freezes and/or random system reboots. You say it's not the soundcard because you tried without it, but did you also remove the drivers? One more thing, what kind of anti-virus software are you running, or are you running any at all?

I'll say it again, go to tweakguides and follow it exactly. Even if you don't fix the problem, you will gain a great deal of knowledge about your system, and you'll know with almost absolute certainty that the problem lies in hardware, no the O/S, drivers or other software.

The patience levels of this forum are why I will stay a loyal member till the end. every time I have ever needed any sort of help with my computer stuff I always get my answers here, I think the key to my success is I LISTEN and EXECUTE the help and advice that is freely given out by the great member here at Anandtech.

I apologize for adding such a useless post to this thread.

**EDIT**
Holy cow! I just noticed that I am a senior member... again, I am sorry this edit is just as useless as my original post.

hehe- I have no doubts.

ummm...errrr....india.....mmmm....did I say akshayt's place......How about my place and I'll buy the beer and brats!

And all good clean fun aside- akshayt I still think it's memory related. Run memtest86 test yet? You can google memtest86 and they have directions on how to make and use a test floppy.

yes, all my respect to the level of patience on AT forum. i learn a lot just by searching previous post.

after i changed my PSU with seasonic s12+ 650w, all my problem with my system is gone, no more shut down or lock ups even playing games online.

Don't worry about the video, that is almost on its way.

I have thought of an idea. I will try my 6600GT(obviously at relatively lower settings) instead of 1900XTX and if it works fine, then it means that the problem is in the video card or some conflict with a motherboard setting, right?

Tried on my 1900xtx at 800*600 low settings with no aa no af and there was still stutters/jerks although they were slightly less as compared to 12x10 max aa af. I am talking only of MW right now.

Is your system page file set to the right size? You might want to look into that. You could look at tweakguides' guide to optimising the system which would tell you the optimal size for the page file.

That's because it reduced the textures needed to be stored in system memory where your bad stick of ram is causing stuttering (paging a lot to your hard drive).

Edit- poster above me has a good idea also.

please mention a good tweak guide as well.

also, stuttering wasn't a great deal less, it was like 80-90% of what it was before. Do you think it could be a RAM issue.

One way to find out- memtest86 - I'm going to keep posting this until you test your memory with memtest86 - memtest86- memtest86 - memtest86. Google it. At least it will eliminate your ram as a possibility.

www.tweakguides.com has a general system tweak guide which covers page files. Generally, it advises not to have a system-managed page file system. Take a look, if you haven't already.
